    Played the demo on PS3.

It's certainly no Persona that's for sure. Not sure if it's up my alley or not.

I played the demo last week when it came out. I like it and its nice to see the Persona team trying something slightly different. I'm eager for Persona 2 remake & the eventual Persona 5, but man the teams to do more then just persona games.

This is only in Japanese and only up on the Japanese PSN/XBLA, right?

Yes, I only found it on my JP account.

My three uni semesters of Japanese certainly haven't supplied me with enough knowledge to figure out what the hell is going on, however after playing through the demo and watching the cutscenes, I'm very intrigued.

Well, I downloaded this today (360) and I must say I'm enjoying the story and atmosphere very much. I can understand Japanese so for me it's not a problem but I can se many people not liking the story sections of the game or at least not understanding them leading to not enjoying the game. For example, do you know why your main character is depressed? Do you know what he and his girl friend were talking about? Things like this really make the game. Oh, and the main puzzle section ;p

alecjahn, let me know if you want to know the plot ;)

Think I'll pass if that's all the gameplay consists of.

I'd certainly love to know what the hell is going on (especially after some crazy shit, then a few minutes of gameplay, then three or four cut scenes, then a couple more minutes... etc etc) BUT I feel I should have to work for this information.

I doubt they'll localize it, from what I've seen, but I'll keep my fingers crossed!

[side note: at least half the reason I started learning Japanese was to be able to one day play SGGG without trouble. I'm not too optimistic. I can navigate menus, at least! :)

ok mate. I"ll let you work for it ;)

Segagaga is a pretty hard game to fully understand to be honest but at least knowing the menus will point you in the right direction. Am awful at reading Kanji but you know, I don't really care. I can speak and understand so that's good enough for me. I just ask somone to read stuff to me if I can't read it, ie; stupid goverment crap.

Admittedly, I was hoping this would eventually appear in this thread as well.

I say if they want make their money back they will have to release this stateside. I wouldn't say never either, Trauma Center seemed like it was going to be a jpn only release but atlus quietly decided to release it here. I think will hear an announcement on an American version a couple of months down the line.

The thing is, with a US release they 're going to dub it. Even if they get really good voice actors I doubt it will match the atmosphere of the Japanese version. Japanese are good at this sort of thing. Just as western voice actors are better at more tents action packed scenarios.

I actually agree with you on this Yakumo, oddly I find the english voice acting better in kojima games, especially the metal gear solid series. Still they might just sub it to save on costs of translating. Though killer 7's and no more heroes English cast were actually quiet good considering the anime style they were going for.

I think No More Heros is far better in English due to the style of the game. This is where English is the stronger option.

That is pretty odd. Those games have terrible voice acting. The first game especially, it's torture.
