I've had to return 2 DS systems due to dead pixels and the 3rd has a dead pixel on the upepr screen in the top right corner and the lower screen is slightly yellow. I don't know if I should return it to Nintendo. I might do that.
Sealed chambers, yes. Breathing room, not really. Have you ever looked closely at a PS3 display case? It's just a mockup console behind the plastic case. The actual PS3 is underneath, inside the metal cowl at the bottom. It is similar for the Wii displays. The console you see is merely a fake shell. -hl718
Thats the thing. This does not take weeks. It takes months. Wii were being manufactured well over a month ago. If they could not start making them till a week ago (due to upgrade software) we would not be seeing wii till next year (posibly march launch). No, if you mean the official wii display from nintendo, that is the wii your playing at top.
It may look like a Wii, but it's not a Wii. If you've ever taken the back off one of those displays you'll note that the real Wii is sitting inside and out of sight. What you see is merely a shell. -hl718
I went to Walmart today and saw their PS3 display. They have 2 machines running demos, one seems to be a Blu-ray show reel of current and up-coming games (NBA 07 looks horrible, varnished PS2 game) and the other has a demo of Motor Storm (which looks fantastic). One thing I observed was the music on the start screen screwed up in one place, but it did it the same each cycle so maybe it's the demo.
I went to Wally world today and there PS3 was down and the one showing the demo footage froze.....kind of sucks but hey, it is Walmart. Oh and the 360 worked but the controller didn't, which also sucked.
