I recently found this JVC X'Eye and while cleaning out the nasties from the interior, I was surprised by the lack of guides or HQ pics of the insides available. I did find a text heavy guide at http://www.classicplastic.net/dvgi/features-MODSXEYEimport.html but the pictures were small.

I took some high res shots and thought others might find them helpful or just interesting.

Here is the link to my Google+ album

Download the pics for full resolution.

Also, I didn't think I should start another thread about the JVC, but one thing troubles me. The AC Adapter runs a little hot at 12.8V even though the rating on the back says 9.5V. The console case does get warm above the voltage regulator. Is this normal? Is my AC Adapter bad? This is the official JVC power adapter.

That's what it should be without a load on it (meaning not plugged into the console).

Ok, good. I was worried that something inside it was broken and the voltage regulator was doing overtime stepping down the voltage. So I guess the system getting warm on the back left is normal.

Forgot to ask: was there more than one model of the X'Eye released in the US and if so, what are the diffs?

BTW, maybe it's my enthusiasm, but the system sounds more crisp / clear than my model 2 VA 1.8. I have to look into whether the X'Eye use a different sound chip or does extra filtering. It's not really necessary but I am just curious.

AFAIK, there's two and the only difference is that one has the 9-pin mini-DIN for RGB output while the other doesn't.

The missing RGB appears harder to find. I was skeptical, first saw a picture today.
