I got one of these today at the swap meet for only a couple dollars. He originally wanted $75 until i asked him to show it to me working. It will boot up a cart just fine but fails to read a disk. He swore it worked and then begun to blow on the cd lens eye. i could practically see particals of spit flying into the machine. In the end i got it for just a few dollars. Would look good in a display case if nothing else. It wasnt untill i got home that i realised he was using the wrong power adapter. The X'Eye says 9.5v but the one he was using was 10v .85a. I doubt that would be the problem. Im going to give it a cleaning soon. is there anything i should keep an eye out for? ive never looked into one of these systems before.

So i got this thing all decked out and working. It looks like someone had opened it up for some reason and then put the top piece back on wrong. the 2 led's were smushed down and the weird button that held down the lid switch was not aligned with the switch. So i fixed those two problems and now im kickin ass. :D

Woo! I love it when a problem that looks difficult turns out to be easy to fix.

Exactly. I had all my tools out, just started a pot of coffee and put on a movie. I was ready for a several hour adventure. it took 10 mins. :D
