a guy who goes by the name of jeepersmedia on youtube reviewed a supposedly rare Japanese toy about 1 year ago called " kaba kick "

i was wondering if anyone could tell me more about this odd toy
like who made it when was it made and if it really is rare
and if there was any controversy over it

It's made by Takara, and is marketed (at least in that auction) as a Russian Roulette game.

 

Fucking stupid if you ask me. I wouldn't let my boy use it.

Beside I do not like to let my son play with guns und stuff anyway, I can't really see something wrong with it, or different to other "even more realistic" gun toys.

No, you don't see people pointing cap guns at their head and if they did they're F*ing retarded. The whole idea behind this game is wrong for kids.

 

The toy is terrible, no questions. But the fact is, it exists - even though it shouldn't. Which, at least for me, makes it pretty interesting. I would buy one if I saw it, especially for a measly 1000 yen. I wouldn't give it to my kids or anything (I have 3), but I would keep it as a curious collection item. It's bizarre, weird, and just wrong... to me, and I'm sure some others, that makes it worth having.

I guess, it's like a B-Movie. It's a terrible movie, nobody should enjoy it, but some do because it's so bad, it's good. So over the top, it becomes a novelty.

 

As a novelty item for adults it's great. But the fact it's aimed at kids is just wrong. Like Tatsujin said, it would be great for a drunken party game :nod:

 

That's what I meant. I don't think you should actually give that thing to a child. It's just awesome that it exists for retarded adults like myself to enjoy.

 

The idea of a "toy gun" is indeed quite a stupid one but not that far fetched as they can the same or worse influence from any number of television shows, and there are a number of other things one can shoot to case no physical harm to a person or even living thing. I had a BB gun as a child and shot a box in my back yard.

It would seem that I'm saying that to someone that lacks intellect to have an adult conversation. The toy is a dumb idea. If it was a good idea you'd probably see a number of "Russian Roulette Games" on the market. That being said, it's anyone's right to buy what they want for their kids (even violent video games which should be kept out of the reach of kids).
