So I've been fiddling around with the NEC card on the SDK 2.1 and I was wondering, are there any builds of games on this other than the tech demos?

Well, I don't have the NEC hardware, but looking around the folders, I don't think so, unless you find another SDK versions for it.

But, while I'm not sure if it was already on R2, I do recall that there was some sort of inputs for racing games in the R9 and beyond, something that made me wonder if there was still an remnant of Scud Race on it.

I'm wondering if there is a R3 around somewhere?

Speaking of this NEC card, it was truly a nightmare to get working. The computer I put it in was a Dell XPS R400 which is:

    PII 400 Mhz
    128 MB Ram
    Adaptec 2940U
    Compact Flash HDD
    Mach 64 PCI
    Windows 95.

Now I know a lot of the tech demos will freeze if your computer is over 300 mhz, so I throttled the processor down to 250 mhz and it works fine.
But damn this thing is PICKY on what you can and can't install. First off, you can't have an AGP card in there with the manufacture's drivers installed. It will work as a standard vga card, but not with drivers installed. If you install them the tech demos will either restart the computer (Matrox card), freeze (Nvidia card) or go to a black screen (Nvidia card and ATI) . I also tried installing an ATA100 card in this for the heck of it, but no no, the computer didn't want to see the CDROM anymore, and JUST one of the demos would freeze everytime. Windows 95 is a nightmare in itself, but the best way to set up a dev station with this is to just install as little as possible heh.

How this HW works? You need the NEC card as a videocard to run the .exes or you can try to run in those videocards?

Also, isn't this computer quite advanced compared the Set itself? The 2.1 IIRC is from Sep 1997, at the time I would expect an 233 mhz P2, 32 MB Ram and an HDD from the time.

The NEC card acts as an output card only for the tech demos. It doesn't run as the video card for the system. It is a little advanced compared to the set, but it works heh.

I see, so this would be something like back in the 90s were some PC games had an exclusive version for a videocard, or like San Francisco Rush which it would only run on Obsidian videocards.
