According to the Katana set-up thread:

Can anyone recommend a PCIe SCSI card that will work with a Katana please? I will of have the Mac booted into Windows7. However, if there is a solution using Parallels that would be awesome. Or would that require the SCSI card to also have OS X drivers? All the Mac compatible SCSI cards I did find were hideously expensive :banghead:

EDIT: Is there any chance a USB - SCSI converter like this one would work?

The only PCI Express SCSI card I can easily find seems to be this one.

Any normal PCI SCSI card should be fine from the models above and windows should pick it up fine (a bootcamp install), no parrallels will not work and mac probably will pick it up and not have drivers so I've no idea how that effects sleep mode or whatnot.

Thanks for the reply. I didn't realise PCIe was backwards compatible with PCI  That certainly makes things easier (and fantastically cheaper), although it could cause further complications with sleep mode, as you suggest.

What about the SCSI - USB converter I linked to (or similar), is that likely to do the job just as well as a real hardware card?

PCI-e isn't backwards compatible with PCI, you'll likely fry something. USB converters likely won't work unless it's a really nice one made by a quality manufacturer that has tested it in all sorts of bizzare setups.

An old Pentium 3 box is your best bet, no way to really get around it.

Ah I didn't notice the PCIe, no they're not compatible.
