I swear to god my house is an icebox :crying: Must be air leaks all over, it's so damn hard to keep warm in this place. I worry about my collection of games, since they all are cold to the touch. Should I worry this is going to damage stuff in the long run here? I'm imagining the cold making things damp and collect mildew or something. I have all the games stored inside a cabinet, not near a window. I can say that I've got lots of stuff in there that's suffered many a winter just like this and they seem to be fine, but I still worry what can happen. Anyone got any advice, something I should be cautious of? If anyone's got any tales about anything happening to their stuff thanks to the cold also, that might put things in a better light. Thanks.
Heat and direct sunlight are much worse. As long as it is not very damp in there I see not much of a problem. Cold and dry should be ok.
I kept some of my less important stuff in the shed outside in the garden, which should of been dry and gets very cold. A year later I had mold in the consoles and wet games cases
It's not damp. I'm guessing then that there's no real worry. It just feels wrong though... Thanks for the tip Assembler, I'll have to look into getting a can of that. This house is just a joke the way it is every winter
cold is usually dry unless it raining outside the cold sucks moisture from there air and objects that how frost bite works the skin drying out its chapped lips on a much larger scale unless you have ice forming on the games dont really worry about them
The problem is then you just get stuffy rooms that are just as bad. You also cant turn the temperature up in a loft.
