At least in theory. Promising titles but short on details. Steel Battalions - awesome but how will it work? Project Draco - Dragon game by Panzer Dragoon creator. Yes please. Codename D - Looks interesting Childen of Eden - WOW.
I'm actually pissed that Steel Battalion is a kinect game. It's just not the same with a ridiculously oversized controller. Some of the other stuff sounds neat, but I'd like to see how they control first so it's not like every other kinect game and I look like a retard.
It makes me wonder if they're using known hardcore gaming titles to push Kinect to their core xbox audience as opposed to the family and kids that the wii motion control was for. Kinect controls for steel battallion is almost the opposite of what the original game was. Going from a hardcore sim to a hand waving title sounds like nonsense. But we'll see...
The controller is the whole point of Steel Battalion, besides From Software have a slew of Mech titles out already not like this one is going to stand out.
the only way they can get me to love Kinect is if they make the old SB controller compatible..... [cause in this case Kinect would´ve still been the number one reason for them to make a new SB, means i wouldnt buy Kinect but i would love it because of the new SB] but I guess that wont happen....hopefully someone who can code will make a SB controller compatible new SB for Jtag consoles *fingers crossed*
Games look amazing, especially the renamed Panzer Dragoon and Rez. We'll see about this "Kinect" gibberish.
I'm going to wait and play when it comes out. The fact they're a few months away from launch means that there's still going to be tweaks aplenty, so any reviews done now are unlikely to be 100% accurate to the final product. The trouble is, like the Wii and (I expect) the Move, the problem they will face is not bad games (although there will be plenty), but player lethargy. Wiggling your arms about is fine for a time, but after a while the aches set in and you have to stop, especially with long-form games with big levels. Hardcore gamers are unfortunately lazy sods when it comes to gaming, and so there will always be excuses as to why a straight-up controller will be better even with the greatest game ever. As the saying goes "don't knock it until you've tried it"
Like I said, they have until November to fix any niggles (they can even release a day 0 patch for any final updates). I'm not bothering to listen to people bickering over a processing time in the realms of your standard LCD TV's refresh rate (even without the standard 8ms of LCD delay, a 60Hz picture means 16ms of delay anyway). The fact of the matter is that if there is an issue with processing delay, it's very likely that the developers will be tuning the games in accordance with it. Thus, not going to be a problem whatever happens.
If they introduced a new feature for Kinect that allowed me to use mind control and make commands and motions with my mind, then it would be redeemed at TGS.
no matter the tuning, the lack of haptic feedback will make games much less precise and much more error prone, de facto.
