Anyone else grab this? I don't even remember what I was searching for, probably just random SNK stuff for PS2 when a page at play-asia came up about The King of Fighters 98' Ultimate Match. I'd never heard about it before, but I saw the release date was the 25th or 26th of June. So anyway I got ahold of it. I've actually been waiting along time, very pissed off at SNK infact because while King of Fighters 99' Evolution was on DreamCast and then on PS2 with the NEST collection, there was basically a void for KoF 98'. Yet there was plenty of KoF 2000, 2001, 2002 blah blah that I don't really care about. For some time I didn't even know KoF 98' was on DreamCast rebranded 99' Dream Match. I did find out about the PS1 japan only port and was actually playing that in recent days. So the PS2 "Ultimate Match" so far seems really sweet, even including a NeoGeo original version. And ofcourse they support 480P which is a must for playing on my LCD. I also found it funny that atleast in the NeoGeo original portion you could set the language to English. I did a search later because of this and was actually shocked that IGN and GameFaqs seem to suggest we will actually see a US release of it. I hope it does come out here as I'd pickup a NTSC/U copy for sure. KoF 98' and KoF 99' are my favorites of the series. I didn't much care for the others though KoF 03' was interesting with tag battles. So anyone else going to get KoF 98' UM?
If you were more polite in some of your comments during the video. Then some people would probably tell you what the Japanese letters mean.
Turn on progressive scan. Do so by holding Cross and Triangle down when the game boots up. And if the date on IGN proves true you only have to wait till March 31st 2009 to get everything in english.
