hello i think that this image is an early mock-up of king's field 1 (japan version) for psx but i'm not sure. Is there someone who know something about the game (?) depicted in this image ?
Wow, i love to know anything about kings field 1 and 2 beta wise. I played both them like crazy, amazing games. Thanks for the picture !
well, those should be beta pics of king's field 1 (japanese version, 1994) http://img844.imageshack.us/img844/1801/kingsfieldps1gamefan119.jpg but i don't remember the game well so i don't know it there are any differences.
Well, the HUD in the three pictures isn't different from the retail version. Remember: US and PAL Kings Field is the japanese Kings Field II The japanese Kings Field (shown in the three pictures) never got released outside of Japan. See this video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b5KvrbZvmMw I don't know the games very well, so I can't spot any major differences. But the HUD is pretty close to the retail version. The compass needle looks different, so that might be a good hint for an early version. The shot in the first posting is quite likely from an early build. The HUDs from Kings Field I-III (jp) don't look anything like it, but the HUD elements (compass, HP/MP bar) and the graphics style suggest that it's a PS1 Kings Field title. Any information about the source of those pictures? KF1 was pretty much a launch title in Japan, so any material from before ~December '94 is more likely to contain pre-release footage.
yep, the hud is identical to the final version in that scan (which is from the november 1994 gamefan issue). It was posted on unseen64 forum, but the original poster thought that the hud was beta, likely because he compared it to the first king's field that was released in the USA. Now i'am searching more informations about it for an article about king's field beta. But i don't see any real difference. the first pic was photographed (it's faster) by me and it's from an old italian magazine, console mania (it was a very interesting magazine because it had a semi-serious section called "made in japan" where they inserted photos of unusual, and often still unreleased, japanese games) I don't remember which issue was and i don't have the magazines anymore.
