What about this game? did you liked it or not?

i heard alot of good AND bad things about it from alot of people, and i would like to know your point of view. I'm not a hardcore fighting game fan nor a KOF fanatic, since i played my first KOF game last month on KOF 2001. Since then, i enjoyed other kof titles like KOF 2k and 98. I enjoy and understand why those games have a bunch of fans and love the serie, but i'm just not a purist or anything. ;-)

i still like 2d fighter more than 3d ones though.

I would like to hear some things about the game too. It's on sale at a game store here w/ one of these brand new hats with it. :-D

pretty nice hat! Terry bogard if i remember well?i'm not good with names! :-D

anyway, there's this brand new 2-disc (and 2 boxes) pak at best buy (well, futureshop here in canada) for 29.99$ CAN wich is very apealing (a Greatest hit is normally 29.99$ here). Didn't know there was a collector pak though, never saw any ''normal'' pak with one cd either, so is the pak i wrote about earlier is the collector?

    thx again,
    cahaz

I played it on a friend's PS2 and I didn't quite like it, even though it's not bad.
All 2D KoFs were full of graphical details, things like different face expressions or detailed backgrounds while this one is just plain. The 3D modeling is nice, but that's it. You don't have any kind of details.
I also thought the music was one of the worst I've ever heard in a KoF game.
I can't comment on the controlling because I don't know if the game has a bad response or if the problem is that damn PS2 controller that is no good for fighting games.

Alot of my friends enjoy it, though I wasn't that impressed. Most KOF games are very fast paced and you can pull off many combos. KOF: MI played closer to the new Mortal Kombats to me in the sense that you "Dial-a-combo" and the combos are all preset. It was also a tad slower. It's still a good game... but not a true KOF IMO.

  8. I really didn't mind it - as far as 3D fighters go, I must say I enjoyed it more than the Virtua Fighter series. And despite being in 3D, it still feels like KOF.

As far as I know, the 2-disc set was the only one released here in the US/Canada. And the nifty Terry hat was given out as a preorder bonus with the game - or left lying around the back room in stacks for employees to take home because the store didn't have enough preorders... :-D :smt023

I got the game, but I have not been able to play it because my PS2 is broken and I have not got a new one yet :smt009

    Damn, I want that hat!

  10. Ask around at your local Gamestop/Software Etc. - they might have some leftovers as we did. :smt023
