Jeeze..Im pretty sure it was a joke or just some immature fan. I seriously doubt a hitman would end his life over something so trivial.
If the Japanese really responded to death threats like this, then I guess Hideakki Anno (SP?) would still be in the process of making new episodes and movies for Evangelion.
Actually, this is really old hat - like several months old. Death threats have nothing to do with Kojima's association on MGS4; he returned because he was essentially the only one who had been through the series from start to finish and the MGS4 team essentially had no idea what to do with the 'vision' of the series, or what that even was. But don't take my word for it.
I like to think there were more death threats coming from those who didn't wanted him doing more Eva and that they won. Now, if only somebody threatened him so he wouldn't do the Cutey Honey movie...
Old Kojima talks about this in this weeks Edge magazine - worth a read IMO as well as quite a bit on the revolution as well as lots of MGS stuff. Quite funny - he compares the next gen as meals PS3 is an anniversary/unique occasion gorgeous dinner 360 is a special dinner at the weekend revo is dinner served everyday at home! Obviously he is talking about the preperation times inovloved as well as the quality at the end. He comes across as very positive towards the revo and ps3 in the article. Go buy.
