I am looking for a good home for this rare 3DO "Alive" and its exceedingly rare box and accessories. This was purchased from a game shop in Seoul about ten years ago and has been in the hands of a Korean collector ever since. This is the first time I've ever seen this particular box variant and one of only a handful of Korean 3DO boxes I've ever seen (online or otherwise). For those of you who know me, this point will be significant.

It was purchased on Christmas day in 1994 at a Hyundai Department store in Apgujeong, Seoul and stamped with a seal on the bottom of the console for warranty purposes. The MSRP of these consoles at that time was about 400,000 won or more (about $500+ USD at that time with the Asian market collapse still 3 years away and the won exceptionally strong). As in other markets, the 3DO was prohibitively expensive, especially in Korea where your entire lunch could cost about a dollar in 1994.

This package includes the pre-LG, 3DO Alive in its purple box in good overall condition. It has its original styrofoam place holders and comes with an original matching Goldstar pad. The power cable of course is hardwired to the system and is set up for 220V. System has no discoloration, cracks, or broken areas but shows minor scuffs from normal use. The "ALIVE" lettering is intact. It does NOT include the system manual or any other bundled literature or games. It has some S-video cables as well but neither these cables nor their containing bags are originals. One side (back side) of the box has minor sunfading but every other side has bright, vivid colors.

One amazing detail about this particular console as well is that it comes with an absolutely flawless condition VCD expansion card with LG branding. These were typically sold separately and often cost more than $100 by themselves. Like the box, this is the first one I've ever come across.

Finally, included in this package is a new, unopened Goldstar pad in its original box. I didn't even undo the small piece of scotch tape holding the bag closed for the sake of pictures. Box is in excellent condition with no sunfading or obvious flaws. As Goldstar was in the midst of transitioning their name to LG, a side sticker on the box and the manual in this particular package show the LG logo that is still around today. This small detail adds a bit more historical context.

In accordance with assembler policies I have uploaded what pictures I could with date stamps to this thread but was not able to add all 31 that I prepared. I will happily put the rest of the pictures wherever I am allowed to do so to stay rule-compliant. Here is an entire imgur thread for the time being. Questions and offers are absolutely welcome.

Item(s) are located in Busan, South Korea and can be shipped worldwide. Total contents weigh in at about 5.5 kg in a secure box. I would strongly prefer EMS shipping worldwide at about $80 but would consider Parcel post airmail for the right location (especially Japan) which should bring the price down a bit.

Asking price $800 plus postage. Payment via PayPal (no gifts!).

They were not included at the time of purchase 10 years ago. Presumably the original owner discarded them and then sold the system to a game shop.

Your guess is as good as mine.

    Bump.

    Price is negotiable, of course.

You'll need to merge this into your other thread as you can only have one sales thread active per the June 2016 rules update.

Also, it requires you to upload images to the site.
