I dont really collect for mega drive but i could not resist at this korean Mega Drive 2. I always thought that Sega was not allowed to sell there directly their consoles, so Sasmung sold there the MD as the Super aladdin boy. But then, why is this MD in korean and directly from Sega? Were they later allowed to sell it by theirself? But what´s the point with selling a new mega drive edition in maybe 1997, when it was already death? And why is the backsite also in english??? Does anyone have any idea or knows soemthing about that? thanks :icon_bigg
I saw a few of these when I was over there. They were released much later in the consoles life as a cheap games system for those on a budget. Almost all gaming related items in Korea have smatterings of english. All of their SNES games are the US versions with a cart and packaging change. Super Mario RPG for example is in english.
That's sweet, I want one :110:. I still don't have a boxed Korean Mega Drive, but i will do some day.....
It's basically the NTSC ASIAN (not Japanese) Mega Drive 2 with some Korean writing on the box. Not that special really unlike the Samsung Super Aladdin Boy. Yakumo
