Korean PSP1001 model, no firmware update?

    Hey everyone, I'm stuck, I have a model PSP-1001 that only plays 1 Korean UMD prototype and nothing more, no firmware update seems to work, always seems to read something like,"Region Error". Anyone ever seen or even heard of such a thing?

    Sorry, are you saying that you cannot get the unit to update at all? Are you only tying via UMD (ie. updates on games) or have you attempted to do it via USB to PC?

    you could perhaps try one of the custom firmwares as well...
