So when I was young, the neighbors had a SNES. They had Mario All Stars with it and also Mario Kart. Everytime we visited them it was always the same: Me asking "Can I PLEASE play on the SNES???" I totally loved the console! So after a while, me and my sister (no, there are no pictures) got a SNES Mario 5 Stars Pack on the 5th of december (that's a holiday here)! Of course we unwrapped it, threw away the box and everything and played on it. Later on we got games like Donkey Kong Country, DKC 2, DKC 3, Astérix & Obelix, Jungle Book, etc. My neighbor also had Mortal Kombat. I borrowed it from him and played it and was like.. Totally addicted to the game. I bought it for 10 NLG (10 Dutch guilders), which was kinda cheap I think. The N64 came, but we didn't buy that one. It was actually the SNES that kept on going here, I bought Arkanoid and Killer Instinct both new at a market in Belgium on vacation. My friends also had a SNES and well, the console just rocked! So I always kinda sticked with the SNES. Although years later I bought a Megadrive, Master System, N64, etc. I had them all hooked up in my room, together with the SNES, and played on them occasionaly. Then I got busy with other things etc. and kinda didn't play anymore. I still kept all the consoles and games of course. Untill june 2008 when I bought a Gamecube with 14 games and not so much later a Dreamcast with 22 games. They were both boxed and complete and I bought them to play on it. However, after playing some Mario Kart 64 and Mario 64, I didn't play anymore on them. So I started selling the games and kept the consoles. Eventually I sold the 2 consoles too... I wanted everything to be perfect. And by perfect I mean new or almost new. So I started collecting consoles. Mainly packs. I wouldn't buy a SNES Control Deck, but I would buy a SNES Mario All Stars Pack. For example. Though if the SNES Control Deck is cheap.. Why not. But I mainly focus on the following things, regarding consoles: - Packs (consoles that come with a game) - Special editions (consoles that are special edition, like the Pokémon Pikachu GBC and Pokémon Pikachu N64) - Limited edition consoles (like the Limited Edition GBA SP Classic NES Edition) - Other consoles that I find somehow interesting And for games: - The games I had when I was young (which is mainly GB/SNES/GBA/that's about it) - Games that come with an item (DK 64 + Expansion Pack, Pokémon Stadium + Transfer Pack, etc) - Mortal Kombat games - Games that copyboxes won't play (nasty eh) - Games that have special meanings to copyboxes (like the Mr. Backup Z64 bootcarts) That's about it for my collection. I also collect hardware like the Super Game Boy for SNES (I have 2 different versions atm). And I kinda seem to collect controllers. Also 3rd party, but only those brands that I think are decent. So no BigBen crap, etc. Brands I think are decent are: Innovation, ASCIIWare, QJ, Competition Pro, Honeybee, etc. Or maybe controllers are just easy to find. I collect 2 of each. I used to collect as many as the console supports, but it was kinda nasty for Dreamcast and N64. Having 4 racing wheels etc. for each console seemed kinda retarded. For the PAL/NTSC and language thing, here's the priority list: - Dutch together with other languages (EUR) - Dutch only (EUR) - English together with other languages (EUR) - English only (EUR) - English together with other languages (UK) - English only (UK) - English with/without Spanish or other languages (USA) - Japanese (Asia) I think most of you will recognize my way of thinking regarding this. This would mean I barely have anything Japanese in my collection, which is true. The only Japanese thing I have is the GB Micro Famicom Version. It was so cool I had to import it. Of course I do make exceptions, for example Metroid has a big box in the UK, while the European version doesn't. Then I'd buy the UK version instead of the European version. Oh I also collect magazines.. Weird eh? I read Power Unlimited when I was a kid, so I got all of them back from 1993 till the one from this month (november 2009). Well I think this pretty much sums up my collection... Now for the pictures! To see everything in detail, here you can find my photoalbum: http://tweakers.net/gallery/134619/fotoalbum You can also find my wantlist there (folder (Wantlist)). Maybe you have something I'm looking for! That would be nice! My wantlist is kinda pathetic, I have forgotten a looot. The Mortal Kombat games I'm looking for are also not in the wantlist yet too. If you look carefully at my collection, you will see what kind of stuff I collect, if you think you have anything that matches my collection, please contact me? Big collection of packs you have there! Very cool to see all those classic consoles in boxed/mint condition :icon_bigg I share your love for copiers, they really have the potential to become obscure hardware in 10 or 20 years. Do you have plans to take everything from your loft and display it in a well lit gaming room?
