Small collection, I should say - not small handhelds. Some of them are rather huge. I've had many handhelds over the years, and though many of them have been sold, given away, or dismantled for parts, several still remain. They're not all in great shape, but I like them nonetheless. Until very recently I had a 3DS, but I've sold it. I may include some pictures of it later. Here are all of my handhelds. They are, from left to right, top to bottom: Game Boy Pocket, Game Boy Advance SP, DS Lite, Game.com, Game Gear, and Nomad. Here's a closeup of my Game Boy Pocket. This unit actually is in incredible condition. I found it at a thrift store, and I've been playing it quite a lot - particularly Super Mario Land. It's amazing what you can find at thrift stores. Here's my GBA SP. Pretty cool unit for its time. Definitely a lot more usable than the original GBA due to the backlight (frontlight?) Here's my DS Lite. It has a pretty nice screen. I won't say much more about it. Here's my Game.com. I got this for Christmas the year it came out. It was pretty useless as a game console, but it's an interesting oddity. This unit has definitely seen better days. Game Gear - another thrift store find. It's in pretty good condition too. It wasn't working when I got it, due to rust on the battery connector. Somebody on the board recommended that I clean it with Coke, which I did, and now it works! Not bad for $7. Audio has some problems that I'm still working out. Ah, the good 'ole Nomad. Quite an interesting device. It's fucking massive. Not much wider or taller than the GG, but significantly thicker, especially once you have the battery pack on. One use I've found for is having the ability to play Genesis games during a power outage. Would have been useful during Sandy. Here are a few Game Boy cables. The one on the left is the Gamecube link cable (for connecting the GBA to the GC). The middle one is the GBA link cable. If you don't know about it, this cable was cool in that it could be daisy-chained to allow you to connect several GBAs together. The one the right is a GBP/GB link cable. You could use this to connect two GB Pockets, to connect a GB Pocket to an original Game Boy, or a GB Printer. Here's my GB Camera and Printer. I can't even count the hours I've wasted (well not wasted…) playing around with all the different features on the GB Camera. It's such a cool little device/game. The GB Printer does exactly what it says. Here are some boxes of my handheld devices. They speak for themselves. Well, I hope you enjoyed my pictures. Please let me know what you think!
Tell me about it. I came close to getting one when I was in Seattle, but I decided on a Virtua Gun and some Japanese Saturn games instead. I think I made the right decision, but I still want an NGP. I'd also like a Wonderswan, but I have other priorities right now.
There're a few comic shops around here that have Neo Geo Pockets. one of them even had a few MVS Carts. But yeah, buying Saturn games is the better choice.
I need to post my handheld collection eventually too. I have GB DMGs, 2 GBC, 2 GBA, 2 GBASP, 1 GB Micro, 1 game boy light, neo geo pocket, and sega game gear.
i've love a nomad, and need to do a battery mod for the battery pack on my GameGear also need to put the thing back together lol as for handhelds i dont have many, currently own: Gameboy Pocket, Sony PSP, Sega GameGear and a nokia N-Gage (not QD). in the past i had a DS when they came out but sold that as i didnt use it much, after playing with my nephews 3DS a bit im tempted to get one.
