So I thought it was about time to show some pictures of my Virtua Fighter collection. It's a small collection, and far from complete, but I'm happy with it - and I don't think I'll be adding to it any time soon.

    Here are my console games:

As you can see, there are some duplicates, and some games in 2 different regions. They're all boxed, except for Virtua Fighter for 32X, but most of them lack spine cards. These are the main games in the series. The ones I'm missing are VF2 for PS2, Virtua Fighter 10th Anniversary, and the Virtua Fighter CG Portrait series. There's also Virtua Fighter 2 for Genesis, but I hardly consider that a VF game.

And here is the crown of my VF collection, virtually of my entire collection. My Virtua Fighter 3 arcade board.

I had wanted this for a long time - ever since I played it in the arcade in '96 or '97. The Dreamcast port never really satisfied me. It took me a long time to get it up and working, but it's fully playable now. It's not set up at the moment, but it only takes a few minutes to do so. It's one of my favorite games of all time - a true technological marvel at the time of its release, and still a great game today. I've been planning on making a video about it for some time, but I've been unable to, due to health problems. Hopefully that will happen soon.

I have a Naomi setup along with Virtua Fighter 4 Ver C, Evolution and Final Tuned, along with tons of console versions.

I would love to see a video of your Virtua Fighter 3 game if you ever were able to.

I also have a Sanwa JVS power supply, which I've wired to the Model 3 board. The cables detach from the PSU, so if I wanted to connect a Naomi system to it, it'd be very easy - just buy or make JVS cables (I used the ones I had to make the Model 3 adapter). The only other thing I'd need if I wanted to play Naomi games, other than a Naomi board (which I don't have), would be an I/O board.

I'm going to try to make a video soon. I've had a lot to do lately, so I haven't really had time. But I shouldn't have much to do next week, so maybe then I can work on it.

Very nice, I love Virtua Fighter as well, I've been desperately trying to find a copy of the Java Tea version of Virtua Fighter Kids for a reasonable price but I can't justify something like 40USD+ shipped for one Saturn game.

Anyway, great collection, love the arcade board!

Cool stuff. Looks so primitive now, but I remember young me being fascinated the first time I saw VF (on tv's Games master l think). Then my mind was blown when l saw VF2 in an arcade. Never been any good at them but a series I hold in the highest esteem.

I already posted this in the Member Articles forum, but I thought I should post it here as well, just so that people who find this thread via Google or elsewhere will have access to this video. This is a video of my Virtua Fighter 3 system.

Nice man. VF3 boards are hard to find, I rarely see them on eBay

Thanks. Yeah, it took me a long time to find one. They're not very common in the US. Supposedly they're much more common in Japan, as VF3 (and VF in general) was much more popular in Japan.

As I mention in the video, in all of the time I've been going to arcades - and I've been to arcades all over the country - I've only actually seen a working VF3 cab in an arcade once. One time I saw a VF3 cab sitting in a back room in an arcade, but apparently it wasn't working. So that's partly why I decided to buy this board and get it working; since this is the only way for me to play this game, apart from the DC version, which isn't really the same.

Not really, but anything is possible. I like VF4, but it's not my favorite in the series. VF5 is okay too, but again, not my favorite. VF3 and VF2 are probably my favorites. I may end up getting a VF2 machine at some point, but I would probably need a full cab, since VF2 uses an unusual video signal. I might also like to have an original VF system. I think the 32X version is probably the best home version of VF, but it's not perfect.

Somewhat related: I was thinking it would be cool to own the LE version of Shenmue II that includes the VF4 and VF History discs. And while I'm at it, I also need What's Shenmue and US Shenmue.

VF2 runs at 24kHz just like VF1 and 3 so if you can run 3 then you won't have an issue. I have every VF arcade PCB from 1 to 5 FS but I really appreciate certain installments.

Unfortunately I had lost track of this topic and did not realize you had posted the video. I will have to view it later when I get home from work (no speakers here). Looks like you use a gbs8200 and neo geo cd controller like I do.

I had posted a few videos of vf4 on my channel as well:

VF4 Version C GD-Rom (More recent captured video)
