Hi I want to share with all of you the newest episode of "Tony's Forest of SNES". This time around, i talk about Lagoon. I have great memories of playing that game when i was a kid. Even though it is often compared to the first Ys games and that everybody hates the short sword the hero has, i think it is an enjoyable game to play. Check out my review!
Yeah the music is excellent in that game. I used to record some of it on tape cassette, yeah i'm that old! Did anyone of you guys made mixes of videogame music on cassettes or CDs or am i the only one that nerdy?!
A childhood friend of mine did that all the time and even used a lot of Japanese animation intros too. While I certainly had an appreciation for it, my longing to hear the music outside of the game itself did not start until after I discovered weed which, conveniently, was right around the time the music was being digitally ripped from games.
Well yeah with emulators now it is much easier to listen to the snes music on the go, with each song in the SPC format containing the samples and tracking information into a single 64kb file, that is easy to stock thousands of songs!
Yes this is a really good song. There are so many good songs in this game anyway. But if you want to listen to some of them with a different sound but with the same structure, give the Sharp X68000 soundtrack a try. I found it in a forum called ffshrine.org, you can also simply search for "Lagoon x68000" on youtube but sound quality is not the best. The X68000 soundtrack is a hit or miss for me, some songs i prefer some others i don't. I like the snes sound so much!
