    Hey Guys

I'm having a problem with a LaserActive system I bought. It has the PC Engine module.

When the PC Engine module is inserted then the system will not play LaserActice laserdisc games. The disc starts spinning but it results in a error. It will play HuCards, laserdisc movies, audio CDs just fine.

I tried the same LaserActive system with a Sega MegaDrive module, and then it was able to play the laserdisc games. So that tells me the problem is with the PC Engine module.

I assumed the modules were just for playing HuCards and MegaDrive carts and the controller was the only thing used with the laserdisc games. But it looks like there is some kind of relationship between the module and the laserdisc games? So a module can partially break but still be used in some ways?

    Thanks!

There are two different types of Laseractive discs, LD-Rom2 which require the PC Engine module and the Mega LD discs which require the Sega module. You can't mix the game types with the modules as they require the hardware in the modules to actually run and control the foreground action, scoring or control action of the games. I'm guessing your module is not broken, but rather you just have all Mega LDs right now.

No, I can't believe someone could be that silly and not read the laserdisc cover which states what module it requires or miss the fact it says Mega-LD or LD-Rom2 which would give a large clue about what module it would run on.

    Ignore him lol,

The Laseractive I got from you is till in fine shape tho for some beard reason my TV is selective about what it will show from it, get this.....the Laseractive system and modules are fine, they output picture and sound... my TV will play LD games fine, but for PC Engine & Megadive/CD games the picture shows for a few seconds then dissapears leaving just sound. The Laseractive is still outputting the picture as if you change channels then switch back it appears for a few seconds!

There is an exception to the rule tho, Annette Again Mega CD game will run fine the picture wont dissapear.

A seperate megadrive console does the same thing, but my PC Engine CDRom2 system works fine.........

Is there something about the output of Megadrive & Laseractive that is making my tv act wierd, but if so isnt it wierd that Mega LD games run fine. I cant explain it.

The TV came out in 2003, and supports 2 NTSC formats...i tried it through my AV amp with the same results. The seperate megadrive console I tried is PAL so i imagine my TV is just silly.
