Laserdisc Newbee: Player wanted ... which one to get ?

    I had a Laseractive, a console great for sure mared by only composite output & is really non event as a Laserdisc movie player.

    I just sold another Pioneer LD-S9.....really, really nice player. I'd say that's one of the few that can rival a DVD picture in terms of quality.

    I am still rocking a laserdisc player...

    ...unfortunately mine is a Panasonic, so it sort of sucks.

    Best disc though...by far it has to be Die Hard With A Vengence. Something about that movie looks absolutely amazing on laserdisc.

    A couple stores near my house still sell them...so I buy them. 2 bucks a pop or so...can't be that for a movie.

    I dont know why anyone would wanna watch hidef rips when you can watch 440 lines of analog video from a giant disc!?!

    :D, as i understand LD are encoded in composite right? So the best video leads you can use is S-video right?

    and btw, is there a way to upconvert video off s-video? as far as i know most upconverters only do it via component.

    Theres lots of devices that upscan s-video. I have a box that'll scale anything 480i to 1080p.
