So the old thread is a year and a half old, and it was limited to the Youtube channel (which is still a thing, don't get me wrong), but now I figure I should start a new one because I started my new Podcast/Let's Play series, creatively entitled Let's Cast. Basically today I played through the first half or so of Alice's Mom's Rescue on the Dreamcast (because I've been uploading VGA videos of my CRT setup this week as well) and talk about various currentish gaming things. Including the Coleco Chameleon, twice. The audio only one is on Soundcloud right now (iTunes hasn't approved it yet because you have to have at least one podcast in order to submit it), right here: https://soundcloud.com/last-call-games For those of you who want a video, you can watch it here: It's about an hour long, and has a lot of me moping about dying in a video game for a 16 year old console.
If in case anyone thinks "boy, I'd really like to give Sean money because getting ad revenue on Youtube is a pain in the behind", I've got just the thing for you, a new Patreon page! https://www.patreon.com/user?u=2715814 Soon I'll finally have the Madden 08 review finished.
Hey, that Madden 08 review I'd mentioned, here it is! I spend a lot of time talking about the Gamecube itself, not a ton on the game itself (it's freaking Madden, what do you expect?).
I'll check this out. I was wondering why you'd choose a game like Madden, but I forgot for a second that you cover the last game released on consoles. Hopefully the other ones aren't as boring as Madden haha.
It really varies. Wikipedia deleted the list I was using, buuuuut the Internet Archive didn't! Some of those games aren't that bad, some are super rare (the US version of Magic Knight Rayearth is usually over $200, the Japanese copy I got for $15), but there's a lot of sports games, because, let's face it, they're pretty much the same, and after like Madden 06 EA stopped developing features for the sixth gen, and just popped out roster updates until it stopped being financially viable to even do that (which was 08 for the GC, 09 for the Xbox, and 12 for the PS2 in case you care). I have less than half of those games from the list, though I have most of the US ones for consoles I own. Some are actually pretty good, like Pokemon Yellow, and THPS3.
So I have another Let's Cast up, where I play some Turbo Pug (which I did buy just because of the name) and talk about...stuff. I promise next time I won't spend 10 minutes talking about the Retro VGS/Coleco thing. It's also up on Soundcloud https://soundcloud.com/last-call-games/lets-cast-2 and I have no idea when iTunes will update.
I know I kind of said I wasn't going to do another sports game, but I'm not technically lying. I'm reviewing 2 sports games. Somehow ESPN gave their license to make games to Konami (who had been making sports games, but other than ISS/PES was lower on the sports totem pole than Acclaim) so Konami entered the new millennium by making ESPN games for the Dreamcast. Two of them, a basketball game and a track and field one.
Let's Cast 3 is up for your viewing pleasure! And for you listeners, here's the Soundcloud link https://soundcloud.com/last-call-games/lets-cast-3 It's on iTunes too: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/lets-cast-3/id1090221915?i=366034820&mt=2
Ok, new video time. I was out of town last week, and was thinking about looking subjectively at which consoles are the best to take on a trip to a hotel or something. I have done that before, so I decided to rank them. This is part one, because the whole video is probably an hour long and editing was killing my craptop. I was a little surprised by one of the ones that didn't score as highly as I'd expected.
Finally got another Let's Play done. It's not really fulfilling the podcast part, but my sibling and I managed to play a pro wrestler dating simulator. So that's something.
Good lord it's been almost 2 months, well here's a massive pickups video, and now I know what a new video will be. It's not as happy.
