Hey all, Just thought I'd make a post before my departure. Tomorrow I'm heading to Europe for a month. I'll be visiting Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Austria, Germany, France, Belgium, and the UK, and possibly other countries as well. Going to be an awesome trip! My girlfriend and I will be traveling together via train for most of the trip, and we've mapped out about 10 places to visit in our Journey. If anyone has any tips or suggestions for my adventure, I'm all ears (er... eyes?). - Don
Have a nice trip, but please take your time to adjust to each country, and not just rush through. A month is few time for so much countries, maybe narrow the selection down a bit? Just a suggestion to prevent stress and disappointment. What part of Germany do you want to visit?
Amsterdam is great, that's right  Been there multiple times. If i had a month in Europe i would definitely spend a few days there!
If you consider going for a real experiance with locals (sleep at their place or just meet for coffee/do things together) I would suggest you register at www.couchsurfing.com and post some dates on where you will be and when, local people will be more then happy to show you around and instead of being a dull tourist you can experiance life from a locals perspective. If you want a short free tourguide for amsterdam drop me a PM ill show you around.
Oh that's great, have a save journey. Enjoy your trip. I'm also from Europe! If you are in the UK, don't forget to visit London. That was my last journey two months ago.
See you when you get here mate! I would also advise visiting Amsterdam too. I have still not been myself but never heard a bad word about it.
I can imagine that maybe you are on the low-cost side of trip, so maybe this is a out of place suggestion - but if possible try to get to see an opera @ Wien (Austria's capital), or even better go to Salzburg (hometown of Mozart). And if you are there, take the time to drop by in the Munic area too as they have plenty of small outdoor (beer) festivals in there (check the net). As you are going to Hungary, you definitely want to taste some Gulash soup in Budapest and enjoy an incredible surprisingly modern city. Another, big BIG must is Prague. Prague is THE european city by default (at least for me, and no im not from there).
Great suggestions everyone! We'll try to visit Prague, and Vienna (Wien) is on our list too - we'll see about how much the opera would cost, but I'm not even sure I could go - I'd have no choice but to bring my camera as it won't leave my side during the trip. We just added Brasov to our list, in Romania. Going to see Bran Castle (Dracula's Castle) and enjoy some sights out there. We'll probably swing by Fussen in Germany for some more castles, too. I'd like to go to Amsterdam, but I'm sure I could spend a month in every city on my list and not see it all so I'll have to be selective to some degree. Parris, I'll drop you a line in the UK for sure
