Some other stuff from various leaks are there. I have no idea who organized it but it's a pain to find anything

Dam It is a surprisingly fun campaign which has a fair bit of difficulty to it. It's brilliant, but is definitely unfinished (if I'm remembering right, the third level in that campaign has some missing textures. it's all cosmetic, but still a bit out of place when you're running around in a forest and some equipment is checkered pink!).

In the way of builds: I don't think any have leaked at all, but my gosh I would LOVE it if a 2007 Turtle Rock Studios build were to find it's way online. Out of morbid curiosity I asked Turtle Rock themselves if they had anything archived in regards to the coveted "2007 version" and this was their response:

"Hi! Valve wouldn't be to happy if we did that but I believe really the only thing we had left was the unfinished Dam It campaign. Everything else was removed from our premises at one point."

I followed up with asking them if they indeed don't have the source code to the 2007 builds / builds from that time period on file and they responded with:

"I'm sure valve just wants to control what content goes out that they own is all. We don't. Had a similar question the other day and Chris Ashton confirmed."

i know people who have early development content straight from former turtlerock and valve artists, they used them for the project LEFT FOR DEAD ZERO

That is true. They were given the beta versions of the Survivors (main characters.) I don't remember if they released those to the public or not, though.

I'm rather curious on how complete the game was when Valve had taken over development... Judging by the screenshots found online, it looked almost complete in all areas. I'd love to know whether or not the Screamer was ever a fully working infected or if he was just a mere concept...

I like to think of the Hunter as the Screamer considering it's the loudest of them all.

I was reading the L4D Wiki a few minutes ago and, from the way they worded their stuff, it seems to me that it indeed was a fully functioning infected at one point. it had co-existed with the Boomer at some point (which obviously they re-used the whole "attract the horde" idea for his bile).

I know L4D2 has a cut infected as well: the Leaker. It was a horrible idea imo. It was basically where it would sit in one spot and once the survivors are within a certain distance it'll explode. It'd be rather easy to avoid them by just walking around them (provided they spawn in a spot which allows such a thing) and they'd apparently alert the survivors in some way as they would "plant themselves".

The Leaker still exists in the files and partially works IIRC. They use the male Boomer model, so.. yeah. I also know Fallen Survivors were meant to be in the initial release, but they were cut (not entirely since you could spawn them) and they were re-introduced in the Passing campaign.

I doubt the build will ever leak but at World Cyber Games 2007 Valve had a booth with playable builds of Left 4 Dead (and Portal), I was too young at the time to remember any differences when it finally came out over a year later. You can probably find some gameplay videos and pictures online though.

From what I can tell, the early survivor models are present, along with the final voice actors / actress. That, and the boomer bile screen-coverup is a bloody red instead of the cool "wishy-washy" green one found in the final.
