I can't stand Dragonforce, I heard a lot of stuff about how they were great but i just don't like them.

I think i'll stick to what i've got on at the moment which is Children of bodom - blooddrunk

King Diamond is in GHM but I don't like this because all the fucking kids are going to go nuts about it and annoy me.

 

The song list is the ONLY reason I'm getting GHM. This is really it for me and Guitar Hero. Rock Band is sooooooooooooooooo Much better

 

Yeah, I have a similar feeling about what Metallica is right now, but you can't hate their first works (I just can't get tired of Kill 'em All), but when thrash began to fall at late 80's / early 90's, 'tallica became into a money addict b*tch. I see Death Magnetic as a try from them to go back to their roots, and even when they didn't achieved it I can't blame them for trying it...

Totally agree, specially on Dragonforce (in Metallica's case it's just too obvious). I still can't understand people who actually believe they're the best playing their instruments only because they play at insane speeds, if I want to see the best performers I look for instrumental, neoclassic (not a fan of this particular genre but I have to admit the virtuosity of guitarists like Malmsteen) or prog rock and metal bands.

 

I want to like Malmsteen but I fail out of his songs very quickly in Rock Band...

As for Metallica.... Load and Reload are Garbage. St Anger sounds like somebody banging on a trash can.

But Death Magnetic is AWESOME

 

You can listen to music outside of rock Band!

Not aimed at you, but:
I like those music games, but something that seriously fucking annoys me is when people suddenly pay attention to some band/song only because it was on Rock Band or Guitar Hero. Yeah, a lot of the music on them are good, but if you like the games you probably like music, and you should have already heard those songs before.

I asked a friend what album Heart Shaped Box was on and he seriously fucking told me Guitar Hero 2.

 

LOL OH MAN that's hilarous. any half wit should know what album it's on.

but like Rock Band has introduced me to SO MANY bands I wouldn't otherwise listen to. I'm a HUGE fan of Queens of the Stone age becuase of Rock Band. Not that I hated them before I was just like eh, another of the 10000 bands Dave Ghrol was in.

Underoath I never gave a thought to until they were in Rock Band...the rest of their music sucks....

Most of the music I buy (OK ALL of the music I BUY) I buy through Rock Band.

I'm excited about Ten coming to rock band on Tuesday.

But that's different I'm a music Buff and Rock Band gives me a chance to listen to bands I otherwise wouldn't give a 2nd glance to on my own. (and lets not get back into exactly HOW I get my music...... Yeah that was a real legendary dick move of my back then...)

 

I wouldn't have expected my bud to know what album the song was on anyway. That's what I don't get. He doesn't listen to music really at all but loves the games. There fun but I still think it's wierd.

I think theres a few bands I heard on Rock Band that I checked out, but mostly it was just reminding me of 90's popular stuff, which I thought was cool.

 

Not everyone is a walking musical encyclopedia, and you can't expect everyone to hear every song that's on the Guitar Hero or Rock band games. It's not like they HATED the song before Guitar Hero, maybe they just never had the opportunity to hear a song, or to hear it fully.

Also, I have no idea what album Heart-Shaped Box is on, and I don't care to.

 

Like I said, I wouldn't have expected him to anyhow because he doesn't listen to music. I don't care what people listen to or don't listen to, it just annoys me when someone suddenly absolutely adores some band but has never heard anything of theres outside of Rock Band/Guitar Hero. They are great music discovery tools but thats a pet peeve of mine. Of course, I'm a dick, so whatever.

I.E. Dude only listens to stuff from Rock Band, refuses everything else. That and anime soundtracks.

I like a few Japanese Bands and some Jpop but not a whole lot.

My friend Candis is always sending me/having me download new stuff she's like a Music freak. As in it's all that's keeping her from going emo and cutting her self to ribbons.

Nothing's she's given me has stuck or become a favorite though besides Modwheelmood.
