Honestly, I was just thinking of DK Barrel Blast and its really upset me..Hell why the heck didn't they just make it compatible with the bongos! Considering the price people paid for those things and that the game was aweful with the wii controler. I never got this decision.

So this brings me to samba de amigo for Wii. I want the DC maraccas to somehow be useable with the Wii.

Could this be done? Would it require alot of additional effort some Gearbox?

I was thinking of emailing them to put in a request. But, how exactly would it be done. Should I simply request that gamecube controllers be useable, so a DC to Cube adaptor could be made.

    What are your suggestions?

After playing with the orginal marracas I just can't imagine just using wii controllers.

DK barrel blast should have never gone to wii, it should have stayed on the gc as the whole point of the game was it used the bongos.

Im hoping that theres some wireless maraccas coming as i don't want to make do with a pair of wii remotes, this is one games that definately needs its original controller otherwise whats the point of it.

Too true, importaku  Playing Samba De Amigo with a set of Wii remots will be shit, even if they do output a fake maracas sound through the speaker.

By the way, your Wii controller covers arrived. I got you two of them.

Sega or Nintendo do not care about supporting Dreamcast hardware in anyway (anymore), so I imagine allowing a convertor wouldn't be expected.
(Though it would be nice for them to allow it..)

We need new maracas, that would be great. I mean, yeah, it is nice that the Wii controls SORTA can operate as maracas, but it's not the "true" way to experience Samba de Amigo. It probably won't happen as Nintendo will lame out and mandate that "THE WII REMOTE AND NUNCHUK ARE SUPPOSED TO BE THE ENFORCED MEANS FOR PLAYING TEH GAME" which makes sense.. but is still totally lame sauce. This game worked better with maracas on the DC, so...

I would at least like some options.

something tells me that the reason it's comming to wii in the first place is for you to "shake the wiimote and the nunchuck :p

Well this is gearbox.. so who knows how the guys developing the themselves feel.

Even if no offical converter was made, would there be some way to do it "unoffically" either though the Wii controller port (ala guitar hero 3) or the cube controller port.

The game will use the wiimote and nunchuck for the "maracas", so it's a real shame! Why don't they 'just' release wireless maracas....... :(

Even just an orange rattle that sticks onto the ends of the Wiimotes would be welcome!

They better not screw up the music... oh please god... but saying that, I bet they just release the Samba v.2000 music tracks, therefore making it a pointless purchase for all those willing to buy it, as we already have it on the DC!

Well it wasn't that bad if they let you use two wii-mote's with somekind of rattle-clickable. But no they decided that we need to use the wiimote and the nunchuck..... well that just makes 'super hard mode' impossible to do, becouse of the short wire between the two!

About the music it's going to be 'new' music and allot of 'old classics' from the previous two SDA games.

Look guys the game is still in development. Take action and email gearbox

Tell them how much the hardcore DC fans would apprecaite

    1. the ability to use the dreamcast marracas with the game (as we spend insane amounts of money on them)

    2. A option to use 2 wii remotes

    3. Optional new maracas

Don't stand down. Stand up at sundown!!!! And email email email

let these guys know how hardcore we are. I mean for !@$@'s sake I know some of you own like 2-4 sets of DC maracas. Let your voice be heard!!!

    Translation...

Were hoping for a quick half arsed cash in where we wont be bothering to give it the controller it deserves & will bodge the wii remote & nunchuck to do the job.

One more thing. I found that gearbox has a message board on their site with a Samba de Amigo fourm.

I tried to register, but was unable due to not having a "ISP email address"

Whoever, has the ability to register over their please make some post on getting the ability to use your Dreamcast Samba de amigo maracas.

It seems these guys are fairly small scale, so they'd like definitely look into the request if it was posted about.
