Virtua Cop 2 is a CDDA + WinCE game. That would be a great test - if you get that working you can be sure 99.9 of titles will work.

Also try any of the "El Dorado Gate" series to see if the copy protection is passed.

WinCE + CDDA can indeed be a bitch, but it's possible to fix it. I haven't done it since years thoug, there's no WinCE games I like enought for the hassle!

 

Someone should look into this. We need 100% compatibility on it like the Everdrive 64 now has.

 

For cybdyn this is not a problem, as he emulates a gd-rom disk. The hacking is only needed while booting from a cd-rom!

Now that this concept has proven to be working there has been a few blurbs about it on the net. someone blurbed it on Reddit and Retro Collect ran a short article. They all point back to this thread. I've also had a major rise in new members over on the Facebook side of things. 20 new members in the last 48 hours or so. That lines up with the time Retro Collect ran the article and someone blurbed it on Reddit.

You got my support! Make this a reality man! A hdd on a Dreamcast would be great with a hacked up Dreamcast karaoke unit and a recycled PC zip drive to make a good concealed case for a 1tb hdd to fit in much like this user created mod.

This seems like a rooster and a chicken doing it.

 

Remove the optical drive and you'll have enough room to fit any 2.5" hdd in there! Heck the dc is full of void, you could probably fit an HDD without even removing the gd-rom drive! Just replace the psu by a pico-psu or something!

 

I'm late to the game and just found out about your project through a post on another forum. I just wanted to congratulate you on getting this working, and to say that once these are for sale, I'd buy two or three
