So i've been looking at buying a few arcade machines but they need some work done. Fixing lights and shit. I figure it can't be that hard right?

Anyone got any arcades at home? Post some pics!

Fixing arcade machines isn't very hard, until you get into trying to restore something to its original state. Replacing lights, buttons, switches, even the power supply shouldn't be too hard. The things that get more difficult are when you need to repair the monitor, your game PCB, or finding some obscure part.

I built a Supergun device to play Arcade JAMMA boards like you would a console game. It's a good way to save space and still have the arcade original games. I couldn't have a full size arcade cabinet right now. Besides they can weigh like 400lbs and have quite a big footprint. It can be difficult moving them around your home and you need to take care not to damage your floor or walls while moving them around. Ideally if you have a nice garage or easy basement access that could help. There are plenty of people with one arcade machine at home and even some with alot. I know someone with around 47 arcade machines. One is a 2 person sit down T-Mek machine. I'm sure he isn't the only person with a ton of arcade machines. But you need alot of space and it is fairly expensive. But you do hear about people getting amazing deals on arcade cabs.

It can get pretty expensive. I don't have any cabs, but I have a few arcade boards - a Virtua Fighter 3 board, an MVS board, and an ST-V board. I use a supergun to play them. The Virtua Fighter 3 board was expensive and difficult to get working. I'm in the process of making a video about it.
