For some reason that reminds me of a Playstation.... Looks like they just took a playstation and added some curves and colored it black lol. Or..... Sony just took that and squared it off and made it gray.....
    ....>_> <_<

Well if it's a proto, it's good bargain, though i think that is some kind of moke up. The controller it's from a 3do [i think, i haven't see many] but the unit is not bringing something in my mind. I have seen some images of a goldstar 3do and they don't even look alike.

It's a Goldstar prototype, it was never released. Their M2 prototype (shown at E3 '95) used the same casing, but with an entirely different controller, with six buttons. In any case, its extremely rare, and at a good price, unless it's gone up already.

Looks really cheap and nasty for sure but I do remember seeing this unint a very long time ago. no idea if it was a proto or an actualy released system. A search on Korean Google may help. I can read it on my Pc (or see the characters) but can't type it :(

EDIT - here's some links about it all in Korean. dj898 we're looking at you

I find it odd that the person claims that the system works with the included game. All the available info on the m2 says that it isn't backwards compatible (I know that the seller doesn't mention the m2, but it was mentioned here). Plus, with a manufacture date of Nov '96 and Model # GDO-203P, it can't be a Goldstar prototype as the Goldstar had already been out for a few years and its model # was GDO-101M. I think it is most likely a production model of a secondary/newer/replacement 3DO Goldstar that was either never actually released or released in small numbers. It does look a lot like the LG M2 prototype, maybe this model was turned into the M2 prototype, or something similar.
Not that it wouldn't be an interesting thing to buy. I'd get it if I had an extra $900 laying around that could serve no other conceivable purpose.

What I thought too. Similar to the Samsung saturn, just a cheap looking Korean version (them and their silly product license rules) but I know jack about 3do.

That's a standard BS1363 plug used in the British Isles. Korea uses the same plugs as most of mainland Europe.

The seller doesn`t live to far from me 15-20 miles......but don`t know if he will sell it for a lower price as he has sort of done some homework!

  13. Yeah, it's a Korean released 3DO. Alive II was what Goldstar called their 3DO system in Korea (like the Sanyo TRY or Panasonic R*E*A*L). Here's a Korean ad for the system:

Only difference I see between that one and the one in the auction is that the one for auction has the LG badge on top instead of Goldstar. Same company, though, and that was about the time that they were starting to use the LG brand name more prominently, so maybe there's systems with both badgings or maybe the system pictured in the ad was an earlier version and by the time the system actually came out they'd decided to use the LG name instead of Goldstar.

    ...word is bondage..

Ahh nice, so it's not a *very rare special edition prototype* in that auction hehe.

Whatever, looks like a nice system.
