I don't know, you guys doing everything the easy way in broad daylight :D To mix it up I did some night shots which were a right pain in the arse due to next to no light.

I've got quite a few night shots... just no Sakura this time. Jet lag is fucking me... it's like 9 and I'm about ready to collapse. If the weather gets better I might head out to Meguro-gawa or Sakuragaokacho. From what I remember the former is REALLY dark. The lighting is not really that good other than IN the trees... I like to use them as a backdrop whenever possible. The latter is much nice. Just too fucking tired these days. :)

I also got the only 45 minutes of direct sunlight the whole day, which started at about 6:45. So... it wasn't that easy.

Friday afternoon. Slept from 21:30 to 23:30 and woke the fuck up. Went down the street to a party and got drunk. Usually a good idea but I only slept about 3 hours the next night. Doh.

man, getting drunk for me keeps me awake. EVERY TIME I go drinking I sleep in the car but only sleep for 3 hours max! I don't understand why either. I sleep in the back with a futon pillow in a 6ft space. There's plenty of room even for two so it's not that I'm uncomfortable or cold. I just can't sleep after a good nights drinking although I'll sleep like a log at around 3pm the next day which my wife hates :p

My my, haven't you become cocky now you've got a nice fast lens? ;)

Seriously though, this was more than 30 minutes after sunset :p

Hehehe, just a challenge to see more night shots. talking of which, that's a beautiful one you have right there.

Today we had fantastic weather down here in Shimonoseki so I paid a visit to the samurai Machi of Chofu. I used to live there for 8 years or so before moving to my new house. It's a beautiful place so I took the opportunity to try out the video quality on my GH2 along with the 140mm lens since that is designed for video as well as photography. The end results are very good. Check it out on YouTube (view in 1080p for best results)

and of course I took a crap load of pictures. I've not finished sorting through them yet but here's a few I've done.

hahaha, they're my kids. You know Japanese kids love Power Rangers and kamen Rider, well most kids sport shoes are in the same design. Bright and colourful with glitter on them.

A few more from lunch time today.

Good old Japanese and their inability to know what the hell is written on their clothing. The funny thing was on the front of this sweater was a cute anime kitten!

This dog is chasing err..... Well nothing.

The full resolution of this shot has loads of action in it plus falling sakura leaves.

Wow maybe I should head over that way in Spring one year. Autumn was amazing, Spring looks just as incredible!
I'd want some antihistamines though... :sorrow: Or I'll be sneezing to the point of tears!

Oh yeah, you'd need something for your hey-fever. I've seen a few kids wearing odd goggle type glasses to prevent eye irritation.

I ain't no kid! :wink-new: Given this is Japan we are speaking about I bet it is either extremely futuristic or looks like it is from the 1940s.

What that image doesn't explain is that the kid is playing a virtual reality robot mammogram simulator. I believe the tagline for the toy was "it's like you're really squeezing the cold, unfeeling steel bosom of a robot!"

The shots between the regulars on here make mine from Japan look a bit arse in comparison ;)

    Figured I'd put this here.
    http://www.niksoftware.com/nikcollection/usa/index.php?view=intro/main.shtml

Google bought Nik which is arguably the best set of 3rd party plugins for Photoshop & Lightroom. The full set ran $600 from Nik, and each one is at least $100... $200 for Silver FX and Color FX. Anywho, the whole set is available for $149 (use coupon code 'northlight' to get it down to $126) for TODAY only. You have until 4/2 (presumably PST).

This is a great set for almost no money. I bought it. Good shit.
