He's semi-famous in Tokyo. A user here posted a pic of him as a reply on Facebook when I shared it there.

I've been to Japan a lot the last 15 months or so, so I figured I should share some pics. I'm a terrible photographer, usually just shooting while walking, and I don't really take a lot of photos, so I don't have many good ones.... But I've been to a few places other than the usual tourist spots, so maybe some will find it interesting, even though nowhere near as good as Gaijinpunch' street photography. :)

Starting off with some pics from Kyushu.

    BEPPU
Early September 2014. I only went here for a daytrip with my Japanese ex while staying in Oita for a few days.

    1. One of the so-called "hells" of Beppu. Aptly called the red hell, I believe.

    2. That's me!
    beppu002.jpg

    3. Steaming everywhere in Beppu. Coming straight up in people's gardens, and there are all kinds of contraptions to use the energy. Imagine living like this, constant steam in half the city. zbeppu1.JPG

    4. More steam... zbeppu2.JPG

    OITA
Early September 2014. Stayed a few days, but didn't take many photos. Not my favourite city.

    1. In Japan, everything is cute...

    2. Just streets...

    3. The steam in the background is coming from Beppu. zoita4.JPG

    5. Some mackerel sashimi special to Oita. Took me a little while to get used to raw fish, but now I love it. (The damn seaweed everybody eats all the time will never grow on me, though. And squid/ octopus.. yuk!)

    More later...

Maxed out amount of attached photos.. I'll post a few more, to finish off my trip to Oita prefecture.

    YUNOHIRA / YUFUIN
Early September 2014. We spent one night in a ryokan (small onsen-hotel) in Yunohira (really small village in the hills west of Oita), with a short trip to Yufuin (tourist city with at least seven busloads of Koreans). Smallest place I've been to in Japan.

    1. Yunohira station. Didn't even have a beeper for the Pasmo card.
    zyu1.JPG

    2. Houses and green stuff.
    zyu2.JPG

    3. More green. Really nice area.
    zyu3.JPG

    4. More...
    zyu4.JPG

    5. Most of Yunohira.
    zyu5.JPG

    6. The train to Yufuin is yellow.
    zyu6.JPG

    7. Nothing particularly interesting to see in Yufuin to be honest, we didn't have time to walk to the thing that you're supposed to see there (cannot remember what), but here's a photo of a fake "ancient Japan area" anyway.
    zyu7yufuin.JPG

    8. Back in Yunohira they lit lamps all over town (well, down the one street and over the bridge), but there were no people out except us. Raining.
    zyu8.JPG

More some other time, if anybody cares :)
