yes, of course i know that, but im talkin' about usual small EQ which happens every day any'n'everywhere. in case of a daijishin it doesn't matter anymore if the power line are over or underground! same for gaspipes!

That exact spot was used on the latest Fast and Furious Movie. Let me see if I can find a shot from the movie...
(LOL I've been visiting for such a long time, and this had to be my 1st post -__-u )
EDIT 1: Hey! this wasn't my first post. I remember having some discussion (a friendly one) with a brazillian moderator here... (Paulo IIRC). Why is it back to 1?
EDIT: can't find one shot of it I'll have to make one as soon as I get home. (@ work ATM)

It's been a while since I posted any pictures here so here are a few I've taken over the last week. First up is a bar called JAP ! Yep, this must follow the same rule that some blacks have where by they can call each other nigger yet whites can't

Probably the best VW Golf a Dragon Quest fan could ever want.

Now, we all think Japan is such a beautiful place that is full of modern technology. Well, yes it is but there are also many poor areas. So today I took a few shots in Tobata in Kita Kyushu. Kita Kyushu as a whole is pretty poor compared to other parts of Japan but Tobata is one of the shittier parts. The following pictures are taken only 5 to 10 minutes walk from the city center.

Yes, someone lives in that house above and just check out the roof on this place !

Now those people are just poor but this next guys house is a disgrace ! He's just one dirty bastard ! It's so bad that the council have put a barrier around the front to stop all the crap from going in to the road. I for the longest time thought this was an abandoned house until I saw the guy come out of it today. I asked him if it was his house while he was pissing around with the back of his car that was also full of shit.

Here is a closer look at the front of his house. DIRTY DIRTY MAN !

A few new pictures today from around my area. THey finally switched on the Christmas lights outside the mail shopping center. Nice to see that they've spelt Christmas right.

Another one of the Shimonoseki Tower. Those of you with a good eye will notice that it's a different colour from the one I posted in another thread here at Assembler. The colour changes every five minutes from Green, yello, red, purple, blue and white.

Yet more proof that Kita Kyushu is a shit hole ! Another photo from some peoples home in Tobata.

I tookthis shot today with my phone from the Kita Kyushu side. The bridge links the two parts of Japan together (I live on the other side) There's also 3 tunnels (1 for cars, 1 for trains and 1 for people!)

It is! Kamon Straight (the name of that area) has some of the strongest currents in Japan. If you fell in you'd most likely drown. Even the strongest of swimmers couldn't survive. It's full or colliding currents and whirlpools! Ships are safe but a human? No way. That's actually the sea as well. I can't remember the name of it without looking at the map but it leads to Korea.

Oh, yeah. Fugufish (Blow fish) live in that water ! Most of the worlds fugu comes from Shimonoseki.

I had to walk home the other day after being dropped off 1 mile away from my home :( so I decided to take a few pictures with the phone.

Where I live is incredibly clean with a quarter of the population being either doctors or lawyers. There are also quite a few well off company owners as well who live in Chofu. Sort of makes me wonder how the hell I can live here. Anyway, unlike many of the big cities in Japan, here in Chofu it's not that expensive to have a decent sized home as the below shots show. These are quite big for the average Japanese.

Of course not everyone lives in modern homes. This family live in one of the old style Japanese homes.

Being a nice place we have many odd little quirky things such as these flags that children must wave as they cross the road so that drivers will notice them. In other parts of Japan children must raise their hands as they cross the road.

Here you can see GiGi the local (money grabbing) carpenter's workshop.

Dotted around the town are these information boards that give info on local events or public information announcements etc.

In the west most people put their car in to a garage but not here. These canapes things are very popular to park you car under.

As I mentioned above, Chofu is full of real rich bastards ! Just look at how many cars this one family own ! I count 5.

Of course there are many cigarette and drink machines dotted all over the place. I have a nice beer one just outside my house

As we all know, the Japanese really like to make the best use of space but sometimes I can't help but feel they are a bit silly. This building below is the width of two and a half standard doorways ! Why bother?

I spotted this demonic demon type statue erected in someone's garden. Not what I'd call garden decoration.

That building in the background is the Kyotei boat racing stadium. I hate this place mainly because it brings traffic congestion and 100's of annoying old twats to the area every Saturday.

Directly opposite we have Chofu Train Station. This place looks like a ghetto for such a high class area. maybe one day in the future they'll update it.

As you can see in the above shot and the below one, Chofu is surrounded by mountains on the left and the sea on the right.

Of course every area must have it's down point and this is Chofu's downer. This house in nothing but an empty shell with a forest growing around and in it ! Just check out the second picture with all the plants growing inside !.

I never knew japan had so many adbandon homes, when my brother went with his japanese freind who was visiting his family for the holidays, he said the floors were so clean you could eat off them, of course maybe it was the area he was in.

Some areas of Japan are pretty much dumps such as Tobata (pictured above with all t he crappy homes) these aren't places none natives would visit though so most none Japanese don't know about them. Still, the areas are pretty safe so at least thats not a worry. Where I live we have almost no places such as the ones pictured above. In Chofu there's only 2 (that I know of) houses that are abandoned.

The thing I remember about Japan (Tokyo, at least) is the sudden contrast between a very clean and high tech building, then all of a sudden you'd get this wooden thing that's falling apart.

Strangeley enough, I actually thought they looked nice.

I have some photos somewhere. Like Tokyo Tower during the Christmas season ^^ They did it up all blue, but I didn't wanna' go back because I'd already been on it that day and Pocket Monsters was about to start on TV. Sad, I know.

    Damnit I miss the place.
