light gun using IR led and camara

    is their any way to have a light gun that only has an IR led on it with a battery ,and a camera facing the screen to detect the dot , is their any software for this? like i remember this game called desperados 5D its and attraction room with fake hydrolic horses that moves and you shoot on the big screen and it had the 2 projector one for the video and another for the 3D and there was also a camera on top of the 2 projectors ,do you guys know something similar to this?

    With a camera? No. But the closest thing I can think of to that would be the Wii remote, which was an IR camera that sensed its position relative to the sensor bar (which gave off an IR signal on each side)

    PS3 camera uses that irrc

    but better just to chop up a wii remote and do it that way (I've seen some newer arcade machines that appear to just use a wii sensor bar haha)

    You don't need a camera to detect an IR signal - you just need an IR sensor. This is what the Guncon 3 and the Wii Remote use. There were also some arcade games that used a system like this, like House of the Dead 4, for example.
