I was Christmas shopping with the wife today and I came across these light strike toy guns http://lightstrike.com/ I used to love laser tag when I was young and thought it was a good idea to get my boys these especially as they were cheap (£6 each) plus I can play too lol.

Does anyone have any experience with these? Are they good? My wife won't let me open them xD

That's what I thought lol, I picked them up from a discount place....in toys'r'us they're £20 each!! So when I saw them for £6 I bought five, one each for my boys and little girl then one for me xD I don't think my wife will want to play.

this reminds me of my Halo Covenant Pistol and Rifle.
I got them when they were sold way back but kept them in the box however when we moved the house our kids saw them and wanted to play with.
cut the long story short now we have two happy kids blasting each other and me holding empty boxes...thanks to their mum... T^T

Do these things use lasers or infrared? I thought most of these toys used infrared which has a very limited range and defuses the farther the target is. Ie. You hit a wider area with a shot the farther you are.
