I just received one of the limited edition "16 way" dpad 360 controllers. First thing I noticed testing it out is that the right and up direction are a little lazy compared to left and down. You need to push them a bit harder to get them to work. I just took it apart to see what exactly is different physically from normal wireless 360 controllers, and I cannot tell any difference. Does anyone know what to look for that would distinguish this from a normal controller? Does anyone have a PCB picture of the limited controller? This is brand new, was sealed and not tampered with which is why I'm wondering. Edit: This is the exact PCB inside my LE controller.
been trying for months. they only gave them to press far as I know... The part to look at is the front shell, and how it holds the directional parts.
Looking at it again real hard, the only difference I could find between the PCB picture I linked and my actual PCB is the dpad traces are drawn differently. Other than that it's the same model number PCB. I took apart the Dpad parts and don't see anything that would make it special. I'll try and take good pics of everything tomorrow and post them.
Here is a picture of the contact side of the PCB. It's the only picture I could take because the camera's LCD decided to die after the flash went off.. =)
