I keep trying to install vf5 export on my lindbergh, but instead of starting the boot of the disk it gives the message "verify destination disk" what does that mean? I did the steps to install. Except uninstall the game on the hdd. But I'm actually not able to as the option is grayed out
Based on limited details that you’ve provided, it appears to be a hardware problem … possibly the storage device. “Verify destination disk” means that the installer does not have a storage device to install the game. Your storage device does not have any game data on it. That’s why the game information is grayed out; therefore, you are not able to uninstall what has not been installed. Sounds like you have accessed the System Test Menu? On the System Test Menu screen there is section that is labeled System Information … access that. That will show you details about the storage device including the size of the drive. If there is no information about the drive and its capacity…this is a problem. If no storage device is detected, open the case and check the connections to the storage device.. The data and power cables - are they inserted all the way into their corresponding sockets? Are the cables in good condition… nothing frayed/damaged? If your connections are good .. Do you have a way of checking the hard drive/flash drive on a different system? If you have a way to check-out the storage device on another system and its good.. Then there is likely an issue with the motherboard.
Also, what hardware are you using to install the game? I've found that the source media or the drive you are using to install the game might be a problem as well.
I had a key chip for vf5. So tried the original disk and a burned copy of final showdown I believe. But I was using a USB dvd drive and I've seen that it needs to be able to do hd dvds. The drive I used never seemed like it was reading the disk. In regards to the first post I was able to get into the op menu and see the hdd and when I first got it there was a game installed on it that booted but I'm thinking I may have uninstall it way back. I also should mention that I didn't have it in a cabinet just the board connected to a pc monitor. I would imagine that it would boot or install without sensing a jvs io
The message you get probably is "Validate destination disk". This happens because lindbergh is initializing and partitioning the hardisk. You need to le this process to complete, sometimes can be more than 1 hour, so be patient.
Also, I've found that the USB Drive you are using may or may not be compatible. I've gone through he same things you're going through and found that 4 of the 5 DVD drives I tried to install a game with DID NOT work. The only successful external usb DVD drive that worked for me was a Xbox 360 HD-DVD external drive. There are other drives that work, but none of the ones I've tried. check these things: 1. Compatibility of External drive 2. Hard Drive used for installation
