I would like to run linux on a xenon xdk, but it seems I missed the bus on finding everything I'd need to do it. I know no-one could really send me that directly but maybe it doesn't hurt to ask if anyone had seen any stray links either. Please and Thank you.
I was actually about to respond your pm, basically you need 45xx recovery (RECOVER AS RETAIL), a kk patched game, burned to a DL disc (as a data cd works fine), and resigned accordigly to dev. Also make sure you have gentoo beta 2, burned on a seperate disc. Then simply insert the game, run it, wait till it freezes and ejects, then it should eject on its own (i think) and you put in gentoo beta 2 and it loads up fine.
Thanks for outlining the process, now all i need is a miracle and I'll find 4548 Same KK patched disc a retail would use?
alternative solution switch 20353 kernel, install HvxBootOs on Hard Disk, boot HvxBoot.exe , install linux via DVD
for those who have not the answer and for info Hvxboot only works on kernel 20353 you have another solution to install linux?
lol, not on your life! Yes, HvxBootOs works great, don't need any special version afaik... if you mean you had irq problems booting linux, check out free60.org and libxenon.org you should be able to get your problems sorted
i might write up a guide today on how to get linux on a kit, il do the origneral method and hvxbootos method
If I remember correctly, HvxBootOS. Just grab the Xbox360Linux ISO. Burn it. Put it in the tray. Run HvxBootOS on any kernel 11775 or higher and it will boot.
accurate, this method works , copy HvxBootOS on hard disk but I want to boot on a xell with a console in 0022, no access to boot dash
yeah the fuses are blown, and it wont boot unless the fuses match the LDA in the 2Bl and you need the 2bl load load for the exploit to take place.
you could help me with this method? I have only a nand dump after Rod 0022, USB module connected to the motherboard or someone could create a file nand devkit / Xenon with auto boot hdd, as annotated Auto boot files: I've included two files, dashboard-hdd.xbx and dashboard-usb.xbx. Choose one and rename it to dashboard.xbx and stick it in flash. This will make the console boot into HvxBootOS instead of xshell when you turn your console on. This way you can install linux to the hdd and have a fully loaded linux box. To boot into xshell with the launch file installed, simply hold the Y button while the console boots.
