Alright, we're all getting pissed and grumpy right now. I just ask that people think before posting. Lots of heated emotions right now, but what happens tomorrow? The day after tomorrow? Next week? Etc, etc... We're all here for a reason, so let's not burn the place to the ground over a sudden burst of drama.
Maybe it is a topic for another day, but people who post without thinking strike me as the type who would not stop to read a disclaimer on posting etiquette. How necessary is this thread? Maybe this counter is enough to start a new fork
I always thought of this forum as one of the rare ones that was mostly civilized on the internet. Maybe we're victim of our success in the recent years. Maybe I'm getting old and I can't stand the kids (like that I used to be) anymore. Maybe our expectations for respectful discussion is very high compared to elsewhere because we've been kinda isolated for so long in our respectful bubble. Maybe it's because the internet and opinions on the internet are so mainstream now that everyone and their mother expect to be able to say whatever they want, however they want, anywhere they want. And you know everyone and their mother are mostly assholes.
I blame the kids (jokes). I don't think we are in the wrong for thinking this site is way it should be for respectful discussion and etiquette. I have been a member of many gaming/ modding sites and they become mostly full of COD cheats and computer fanboys. This site has always been a breath of fresh air in its manner and passion for the whole spectrum of electronics. Like @-=FamilyGuy=- said, the internet has become full of arseholes hiding behind social media. We need to keep perpetuating good, oldskool attitudes towards online discussion and maintain this site as one of the last bastions of electronics knowledge.
