nice! thank you for sharing these pictures

no, these are pictures which I took from auction sites (mostly from ebay) and it really took a lot of hard work to collect these pictures of systems with different labels. I don't need to own these consoles to take save their pictures in my PC. There is not any copyright infringement in this case.

Then how do you know that S KISARAZU made the PSX? It could have been any one of the S EMCS plants: http://www.sony.net/SonyInfo/News/Press_Archive/200007/00-032E/

Also, thanks for taking the time and effort to gather the photographs. I understand that it's not easy, as I've tried to do that before and most of the photographs out there are not suitable.

You made right point it could be any plant but let me tell you why I think it is S Kisarazu. The reason for my suspicion is that during my research on this subject (manufacturing locations of PlayStation), once I came to Japanese forum/website and translated its content. The translation somewhat (I don't remember exact phrasing but it) said stated that PSX was being manufactured in S Kisarazu. I can't reference website now as I don't remember how I came there because numerous times I used to Google in Japanese (by translating my search text from English). But the most important thing is that S Kisarazu has been original production house of PlayStation consoles. According to my knowledge, It is only plant which has produced every generation of PlayStation since day 1 [see links below](not talking about handheld versions; I didn't research about them). PSX was produced in much limited numbers according to my information it was released in Japan only, so I think one plant was sufficient to meet the demand of market and so even if SKZ was not only one it would be surely one of the plants which produced PSX.
The first two links contain official documents submitted by Sony to SEC (See 'Description of Property' section)

But then, it seems either the information in above links is either incomplete/contradictory because one S Minokamo console is displaying 1995 year.

In the end I would say it was not just about getting pictures, I have gone to great length exploring the archive news (including the reference link to Sony site you just gave), reports of Sony and other sources to get information about my subject of interest and of course even then I can't claim that what I know is 100% true or not.

    Thanks for clearing that up.

I think that it's like what l_Oliveira once told me, this device wasn't made by SCE, but by SONY itself. The back of the PSX doesn't say "SONY Computer Entertainment Inc", but "ソニー株式会社" (SONY Kabushiki Kaisha) instead.
If you searched for "S EMCS" and "ソニー株式会社", you'll find a lot of results for non-SCE devices like video recorders. Did you know about this?

Perhaps it was made by a S EMCS plant that was manufacturing HDD recorders.

That being said, it's not impossible for it (even though I think so otherwise) to have been made by just another assembly line within S KISARAZU (Like how 20 and 21 are FOXC).

"SONY Kabushiki Kaisha" is registered name of Sony in Japan which can be translated into English as "Sony Corporation". It is mentioned into start of reports submitted to SEC. Wikipedia about this PSX states that "Since it was designed to be a general-purpose consumer video device, it was marketed by the main Sony Corporation instead of Sony Computer Entertainment. Its high cost resulted in poor sales, meaning that the PSX was never released outside Japan". As for Sony EMCS, it is subsidiary of Sony Corporation just as Sony Computer Entertainment. It works for Sony Corporation as whole as rather than just for SCE, so of course it's not surprising to see mark similiar to 'S EMCS' or 'S. EMCS'. I have seen it on at least two Sony products; one it head mounted display and another is blu-ray recoder. I think when 'Project Morpheus' virtual reality system will be released, it will also be made by Sony EMCS.

The reason I think why Sony made SKZ first choice for producing PS1 consoles is that it has history of producing optical pick up related products (such as CD-ROM player) and Sony wanted to utilize its experience for PlayStation. But disappointedly now almost all of SCE products along with other Sony electronics are contracted to China and now S EMCS retains only production of high end products such as Televisions, Video Cameras, Digital Still Cameras etc. I had tried to write an article about Sony EMCS on Wikipedia, but unfortunately it was not accepted because Sony EMCS didn't meet Wikipedia criteria about company's notability.
