This was released a few weeks back, but I haven't seen any discussion about it. What do you think about it? I loved playing Little Big Planet on a friend's PS3 but thought it was too much to buy a PS3 just for one game. So when LBP for the PSP was announced it was an easy choice. The interface, levels, controls, music and sound-effects are all spot-on in my opinion. The levels are as much fun as the PS3 version and there are several enjoyable bonus rounds. The level creator also works a treat and there's a big selection of items and clothing on offer. There's two things I was disappointed with, first; the loading. It takes roughly 2 minutes before you'll be able to play a level just because of all the intro screens and the heavy loading between them. Overall I think the loading times are too long. Even if you wish to replay a level (directly after completing it, while still IN the level) it kicks you back to the loading screen! Still, it's not ruined by them, it's just a shame it affects the pace. Second; where's the COOP? Running through the levels together, holding a switch to open a gate for your friend, controlling the airship together..it all was great fun..well, no more. Why no ad-hoc mode or suchlike? Damn shame.. Let's add one of these funny 'mark' things; I'd rate this 8.8/10 Like said, I'd like to hear your thoughts on the game!
I like game. I am impressed by how well it translated to the psp. I was not sure if it could handle the physics and it does. It really feels a lot like its big brother with its looks, sound, music and game play. Multi player is missed but it not really that practical in my opinion. I play the game on my commute to work. what are the odds of some one else playing it next to me. Seems easer also, I think almost each check point has infinite lives or I never died enough. Gaming on the go should be a little more stress free. I think so and that's a good thing to me.
I quite enjoyed the game. I actually feel the over all single player game was far better then the PS3. Some of the mini games were extremely well designed (sheep one) and many of the single player levels were well built and felt less tech demo-ish. The lack of Multi does not bother me since I never did it on PS3. Also I understand why on a technical reasons (PSP games can only run at 222Mhz in multi vs 333Mhz with wifi/adhoc mode turned off, technical limitation enforced by sony). The game is pretty intense with it's use of custom created shapes and use of physics. While I haven't dipped too much into the user created side, i've heard nothing but great things about the service (in how you can dl a bunch of levels, play offline, rate them, then on next connection it syncs your ratings back into the server). Over all top notch!
I'll be up at the inlaws over xmas break with nothing to do, so I'll be picking this up. I've never played the PS3 version, so I'm looking forward to trying this. Welllllll....apparently Spirit Tracks is out, so maybe I'll wait on LBP after all, lol.
Completed the game a few days ago. It's fun but I'm a little disappointed that almost all of the later levels have some kind of electro hazard, gets a bit tedious apart from being a lame way to make levels harder.
Never played the original version on the PS3 but I really like this PSP version. My only nit-pick is that I wish you could use the D-Pad to move. It would feel so much better. Then again that said that could be applied to any PSP game.
