hey, anyone have any tips for buying a gaming laptop? i know they tend to go out of date fairly fast, i was looking for one that would be around 2 grand but not much over. any timps? i was looking at the ailienware 17
I have the MSI GT70. I like it, but the built in mic is shit. Other than that, 17" display, 2.x Ghz i7 processor, GTX 770M graphics (3GB of GDDR5), and 16 gigs of RAM (upgradable to 32). Also comes with a 750 GB HDD but it's partitioned into two sections. Sort of pointless IMO since most is for C:\ already.
What about building a lan PC? I am assuming you want to take your pc gaming over to your friends house or something? Will be portable and cheaper.. then maybe (depending on your current system) use the change to fix/upgrade your current machine OR sell it and buy a better laptop (not a super high end one) so then you will have a small lan gaming pc and a pretty good laptop too...
no like i mean i need to take it from class to class and have it completely replace this one, i have a ps4 so thats my home / online gameing. i need the laptop for a few pc exclusives like dayz and minecraft but i need to be able to carry it around. the one i have now isnt exactly worth selling, its a hp dv9000
The problem with gaming laptops is you always need them plugged in. They also get very hot and prone to BGA lifting. I'd say go for an MSI whitebook
