hey folks, i have an everdrive v2 with the cic of the pal version of wave race on it. i can load pal games withouth any problem, but when i load ntsc games, the load, but after some seconds they crash. any suggestions? thank in advance
hi, sounds like a (compatibility?) problem with your n64. If pal games are working, the everdrive seems to be ok. If you have the possibility try your everdrive with a friends n64. greetings, saturnu
I would first try different roms first. And then what is the crashing? If your TV doesn't support 60 hz resolution it may black screen (or show black and white picture). Change the tv and retry the roms if possible.
i tried several roms in the -version. in most cases the first screens work, but then it crashes. all pal versions work fine. it's a pal n64. it does not depend on the tv. other consoles or even the z64 worked flawlessly in 50hz and 60hz mode. besides, when the -versions are crashing, the sound disappears. the n64 light stays red and the ed64 red is always turned off (i don't use a case for the pcb and in pal games, the red light of the ed64 just seems to flash when something is loaded. it's similiar to this here: http://www.assemblergames.com/forums/showthread.php?32619-EverDrive-64/page63 but i alrady changed the sd card. i really don't know what to do, i sold the z64 to get the ed64 to play goldeneye:x unfortunatley goldeneye:x can only be applied on a version of perfect dark. please help me
@saturnu thank you for that great mempack tool. but i have a question: when i use a dexdrive save like this: http://db.gamefaqs.com/console/n64/save/perfect_dark_asmodeus.N64 the game, in this case perfect dark, tells me, that the save file data is corrupt. what can i do?
how to recognize which version it is? ok, i see. but that is more important to me: i tried several roms in the -version. in most cases the first screens work, but then it crashes. all pal versions work fine. it's a pal n64. it does not depend on the tv. other consoles or even the z64 worked flawlessly in 50hz and 60hz mode. besides, when the -versions are crashing, the sound disappears. the n64 light stays red and the ed64 red is always turned off (i don't use a case for the pcb and in pal games, the red light of the ed64 just seems to flash when something is loaded. it's similiar to this here: http://www.assemblergames.com/forums...rive-64/page63 but i alrady changed the sd card. i really don't know what to do, i sold the z64 to get the ed64 to play goldeneye:x unfortunatley goldeneye:x can only be applied on a version of perfect dark. please help me
yes i know ^^ often the game have a 'repair' function after that it's working. i have to check if there is a chk-sum to fix, beside just skipping the dexdrive header, obviously that's just not enough edit: i think i know what's going wrong. many dexdrive-n64 files have a nearly empty (corrupted) mempak-header - maybe they are created with emulators and not dumped of a memory card [dexdrive-header (5Kb)] [[missing-data][mempak-content] (32Kb)] so if i just skip the dexdrive-header the mempak-header is still corrupted [[missing-data][mempak-contant] (32Kb)] after the game fixes the header the savegame is working again like normal [[mempak-header][mempak-content] (32Kb)] as a workaround you can try to use the mempak-features of the controller plugin of project64: - dump the mempak -> copy it to the pc - extract the note of the downloaded one - insert it into the dumped one - copy the modified one back to the sd the goal is the keep the right header (added by the game) and just add some notes
thank you all! problem's solved: i just had to connect it to another tv but strange thing is, that not just the video crashed after some time on the one tv, but the audio too. on the other tv it works like a charm
