Went into my local blockbuster on saturday to the gamestation counter and the assistant told me i was just the man and had come at the right time, he then proceeded to bring out a huge crate filled with cartridges. I was allowed any carts for 50p each, i walked out with over 60 n64 games some snes games and a couple of mega drive games. There was nothing too impressive but for the price i was happy to grab loads. Went back yesterday and they had bought it out for the public, n64 games were £4 a cart :icon_bigg all others gg, gb, sms, md, snes, nes were £1. They also bought the leads and peripherals out and i rummaged through and got a fishing controller and seaman mic for £1. a strange white saturn 4mb ram cartridge and a game gear battery pack. Then they bought out the boxed games, mostly common sms and md games but they had a CIB metroid and CIB Elite for the nes for 1.99 each. all other preowned games are going down in price, most xbox titles are under £5. Does anyone else know whether this is happening elsewhere?
Its because GAME bought Gamestation from Blockbuster. So all Gamestations within a Blockbuster will cease to be.
aha i knew that GAME had acquired gamestation but i thought all would remain normal for at least a small period of time. so if all GS inside Blockbusters must go i`ve got some other places to hit up :110:
I work in one such former-Gamestation, we're operating as we did under Gamestation only we're changing our signs and the such, we for one will continue to sell retro for the time being and have been told there's no plans to stop it. We are however selling stuff pretty cheaply as Blockbuster want a quicker turnaround on retro stock.
