Hello, I just found out that Sony has released today a downloable demo of Locoro for the PSP, apparently you need to update your PSP to the latest 2.7 firmware to play it. Here is the link to the demo page, all in japanese: http://www.jp.playstation.com/scej/title/locoroco/dl/trial_dl.html and the link to the latest firmware: http://dj01.psp.update.playstation.org/update/jp/20060425_aea0541d63cb1d5112284efb1fb833a0/EBOOT.PBP It was about time for Sony to do something like this, now the game folder has a real use apart from running homebrews. Let's hope some more demos are the way, since not too many exciting games have been released so far on that platform IMHO at least it'll give a good idea of games before buying them. Sony mention that the update is only for Jap PSPs, I'm not sure if that's the reality but in any case I'll try on my Jap PSP today for sure. Enjoy Sabre Sabre
I hope they find a way to make it work on lower firmwares, I don't bother with ISO loaders or homebrew anymore, but still want to hold out on updating just in case. *edit* http://img91.imageshack.us/img91/5851/loco0xw.jpg Booo...
Thanks for the picture, can't wait to try it tonight. I'm sure someone will find a way to boot it, but 2.7 will do the job for me. Sabre
Locoroco Demo I just installed the new firmware and the Locorodo demo and I am quite amazed, the game is excellent IMHO and if you're into reflexion games, you're in for a treat!!! It takes a few moments to understand the controls and I noticed some elements taken from Sonic the Hedgehog but I'll let you discover them... The music is quite addictive, the graphic can look somehow simple for a PSP but I found them really effective and immersive. This is quite a refreshing experience and a more than needed addition of the pale PSP library... I hope Sony will renew this type of demo download more often and it's only weight 8 megs!!! Though the level provided is quite long. Here is a little picture of the game running on my PSP: Sorry quality is crap... Sabre
ARG, I am trading my extra PSP for an atomiswave kit. If not for that I would have upgraded to 2.7 already (i dont wish to upgrade from 2.6 now since i said I would be trading a 2.6 unit). --edit-- Hehe, I got the ok to upgrade by the guy trading me (he wants for games, not emulators). Anyways this game is freaking awsome. The map is huge & everthing is ungodly smooth for only a 8MB game.
