Hi, I just purchased two Logitech Cordless Action controllers, but I have an issue. In every other game it works fine, but when I play Metal Gear Solid 3 I'm having to press the buttons excessively hard to get any response...? What could be up here? Anybody else experienced this?
I never experienced problems with my Logitech Cordless Action controller. But i don't remember playing MGS3 with it. Gonna try it this weekend. By the way, are you using the PS2 version of the controller on a PS2? Or using the PS3 version on a PS3, and playing the game through the console backwards compatibility?
I'm using the PS2 version on a PS2. By the way, just in case it means anything, the controller is the earlier revision with the colored symbols like on the original DualShock controllers, rather than the later revision with the two-tone symbols.
i got one of these and as silly as it sounds, specific games simply never work with these (cordless controllers in general, aside few odd ones you might find) one such game would be xenosaga 3, where you basically can't use the menus because of the way the game handles button presses, the game thinks that when you press a button, you press it once every few milliseconds, so pressing down will move you down some 200 items in the menu no idea if it's somehow fixable but my google skills never found anything atleast, so my bet is that this and/or similar weird behavior in specific games is just simply not fixable :/
No, I use them in my robot projects. But they're great controllers. Never held any better controller. Ideal weight and shape.
Sorry Elijah. Work and other stuff are keeping me busy. I promise i'll try it this week and see if it has the same problems.
Tested this weekend. Worked flawlessly with any game i tried, including Metal Gear Solid 3. My controller looks just like this one, including the packaging: Couldn't find any info on manufacturing date or revision in the packaging or the controller.
I had the same problem with my PS2 Nyco iType 2 controller. Analog buttons don't have a pot like the triggers. Sometimes that resistance coating on the PCB is too high, easily remedied by scraping a very slight amount off.
Then it's probably down to the controller revision, since yours is a newer one with the two-tone symbols, while mine has the colored ones like on an original Sony pad, which was the original type. So it must have been an issue which was rectified in the newest one. I'll try to track one down so that I can pack away my DualShock 2 completely, so thanks very much for the test. Even the shoulder buttons require me to press harder than I normally would.
