    I got a steal on a PS3 Logitech steering wheel for $10 in the box from my local Goodwill, only to get home and find out it has everything except the USB interface...

    What can I do? :shrug::banghead:

    The model is a Driving Force Wireless

    What does the interface look like, see if you can find a pic on ebay, and while there see if you can find a loose interface.

    I'd go back and see if it's loose in another box somewhere...

    Almost had that happen to me last week. Went to a thrift store nearby and found an old Palm m110 without the cradle to sync. Continued looking through the racks and found the cradle in a bag on the other side of the rack with other electronic goods which made no sense. You could via infrared (assuming your computer has an IR port) but without the cradle it'd have been a royal bitch to figure out with a modern machine. Power wasn't an issue with this one as it used dual AA batteries as opposed to the internal battery my m130 used.

    You can try e-mailing Logitech to see if they'll sell you a reciever without buying the whole package deal again. Often times their customer service, shockingly, doesn't suck.

    Tell them your dog ate it, they might sell you one on the cheap.

    Oh, steering wheels.

    They seem like such a good idea at the time, but after the honeymoon is over, it ends up sitting in the bottom of the closet, prepetually unused. (I had about 4 PS2 steering wheels about a year ago. Couldn't even sell them. Had to dump them.)

    I agree with the sentiment, though, that if you get Logitech on the horn, they should be able to help you out. I'd expect it to cost a pretty penny, though.

    Kudos, though, on finding something worthwhile in a thrift store that is video game related. Its been years since I've found a video game item worth my time in one.

    Glad I'm not the only one with this problem. I figure it's a combination of having a peripheral that is potentially very useful, if it is built of quality materials and works well, and only being able to use that wheel on the platform it was designed for without some sort of adapter that may interfere with it's normal operation. I wouldn't want to use a PS1 era wheel on a PS3 game, the wheel likely is of terrible quality or just obsolete technology wise.

    Friend of mine bought a HOTAS Cougar for full retail price which was upwards of $100-150. It is an EXTREMELY nice flight stick and throttle control modeled after the F-16 stick but there are very, very few flight sims that make it worthwhile.
