I have a bet with someone over a length of a game title (it's only over a bottle of sake...), they say that White Princess the second - やっぱり一途にいってもそうじゃなくてもOKなご都合主義学園恋愛アドベンチャー (if it doesn't show correctly, then the website is here... http://www.kid-game.co.jp/wp/index.htm) Translates as "White Princess the second ~ Love Adventure in the School That Follows the Principle of Convenience, Where It's Okay to Stray From the Path or Stay on the Path.", although I know they shamefully stole this from IGN. However as I've asked two Japanese people to translate the title, both came up with different and way shorter translations (although one made no sense...) anyone want to have a stab at translating the title? :icon_bigg
やっぱり一途にいってもそうじゃなくてもOKなご都合主義学園恋愛アドベンチャー Yappari ichizu ni itte mo sou janakute mo OK na gotsugou-shugi gakuen ren'ai adobenchaa. Now, you don't want a translation, or do you?
I work it out to be.... I thought it would be ok for a convenience school principle love adventure even if I don't go earnestly as expected. That's probably wrong but taht's what I come up with. At least it's shorter than IGN. Yakumo
Love adventure in Convenience-ism (High) School where it's OK if you're into it with all your heart or (if you're) not. or, as convenience can refer to either "school" or "adventure": Convenience-ism school love adventure where it's OK if you're into it with all your heart or not. Possible, but the "stay on your path" thing is a pretty good translation that retains the original meaning of the Japanese phrase without sounding quirky. I'd go for "convenience-ism" though.
That's what I was thinking too, thanks guys! Still much shorter then the stupid IGN title. Although why did Yakumo change my text to blood red? :crying:
It's the concept that drives the Japanese service industry. Let the customer have what s/he wants whenever and in whatever way s/he wants it. Any form of inconvenience is to be avoided at all costs and when that is not possible you bow deeply and say "please kill me for being a worthless piece of stinking dried squid". If your money is not involved than it's just a cold "that's how the rules are". Hmm... I guess you just wanted to now what kind of game that is... Yeah, here!
I see, but how is that related to the school? Are the kids given whatever they want? I don't see how that could work. You'd think the kids would just say, "never give me homework and let me play videogames all the time."
One has to have played the game to answer that. A different thing I don't understand is how the game could get a "12 years and above" rating if it features such scenes as shown in the "info" section.
It's a how do I put it, tame version of a PC game that had a shiny rainbow 18 sticker on it and the game featuring lots of girls wearing little to no clothes and them being covered in white gooey stuff coming from sausages they don't sell at the deli or something like that... so I've been told... How do change the colour of text from a colour to neutral so it is the colour you want and not white or black? Wonder if Yakumo will notice this and read it?
