I have a couple of Backup Technique magazines, and several Game Lab(o)s. Many used bookstores in Japan have a few issues of Game Lab but usually they're around 2003-2008. The most interesting articles (& related to MSX, of course) are from much earlier, like 1994-1999. Nowadays Game Lab is all about copying DVDs and playing various emulators on PSP and DS, whereas in the past they had... well, articles about copying copy-protected computer software, game multicarts, and RGB hacks for retro game systems.

Old issues of Game Lab, and any issues of Backup Technique are a bit hard to find.

Yeah, older issues of Game Lab from around 2000 backwards were VERY interesting with loads of great info. These days they still do some nice features however there's far too much focus on crappy emulation I think.

Yeah, I did a forum search on his name and found that he was among those who fell victim to the mass forum pruning back then.
