Me and some buddies have a regular gaming night and we're looking for some variety. We've done GTA IV, Left for Dead 1 and 2, Gears of War, Modern Warfare 1 and 2, even some Uno, Mini-Golf, etc. Any recommendations? Anything good on XBL? We all kind of come from the Golden Eye/Mario Kart generation....want something different than just a regular shooter this time. We have up to 8 players at a time online.
How about Blur? Played a lot of multiplayer, and it's always been a source of fun from someone with a background in Mario Kart. http://www.amazon.co.jp/スクウェア・エニックス..._7?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1281104508&sr=8-7
Shadowrun - Yeah, it's an fps but it's basically Counter-Strike with magic. Really fun once you get into the game and figure out the basics. It's also REALLY cheap. Rainbow Six Vegas 2 - One of the most pure shooters out there. Perfect Dark - yeah. it's awesome. Bad Company 2 - although it's hard to play with 8 people. you're only allowed for in a squad so it could take a while to get in the same game. Halo 3 - but if you get down with Halo, I'd just wait until reach next month. The new Transformers game supposedly has decent multiplayer, too. Looking at this list, and looking at games I've played, I realize there is not a lot out there, besides shooters, for 4-8 players. Fifa 10 and... EDIT: Oh, and Monday Night Combat is coming out. I don't know if that's any good though.
Thanks for the tips. I want to try out Blur, but a couple of the guys are anti-driving games, although they're big Mario Kart fans...so....maybe....
Resident Evil 5's versus mode is pretty fun with four friends, but it's online only It's the only >2 player games I've played on Xbox.
How about Risk: Factions? N+ is pretty awesome locally too (netcode is a bit janky). Had this been a year ago I would have also recommended Chromehounds (R.I.P.). Actually, even though you guys are wanting to try something other than a shooter, try G.R.A.W. 2, it has some pretty awesome co-op campaigns that you can use quite a few players with, it would definitely support your group of 8.
I second Perfect Dark Zero. The multiplayer options are quite robust and I've always had a blast with the Infection game type.
Castlevania: Harmony of Despair - Great fun for up to 6 people. Red Dead Redemption - Haven't got chance to play multi in this one yet (due to my crappy ISP) but I heard good things about it.
